Figured I'd share this as it's the first time I notice this during the purchase of a car. To me, freight & PDI's tied to what the maker says they are. So while I'm used to having to deal with admin fees and all the other garbage they try to pass as "mandatory fees" (sidetrack, but in an attempt to shut down discussion, the sales rep we were originally working with stated they were government fees), but this instance caught me off-guard and I'm only realizing the night before I'm getting the car.
Maybe I just never caught it before with other makes, but man, will these people ever stop?
I expect to have a chat about it tomorrow... *sigh*. I try to make purchasing as straightforward of a thing as possible, but aside from one specific sales rep at one dealership (not Mini), they're always trying to play games. Parasitic bs like that makes you want to buy a Tesla.
And if you're wondering, no, this isn't tied on distance from the port, not at all.
For reference, Mini's posted (suggested, I guess?) charge is 2495 on the Canadian configurator. The surcharge based on that rate on my end isn't terrible, but it is still work money that I might not get to enjoy.
