First mechanical problem - tailgate won’t close

SEL model with power lift gate issue.

Today, when I dropped of my son at school, I opened the tailgate by pressing the button on the console. It opened fine. When I pressed it again to close, it started closing and then beeped and stopped. Pressing it again opened it back fully again. Almost like something is blocking it. But there was nothing blocking. I came out and pressed the button on the tailgate itself and it closed fine. I got to work now and tested it again and same problem. Yikes.

This worked fine for the first three days. I have only had this vehicle for 4 days!!

Try holding the button on the console down until it closes completely. The button on the key has to be held down to fully close it, ie if you let up on it it stops. I assume this is so you can partially close it if you want to. Maybe the console button operates the same way
