Has anyone here taken delivery of a Mini with the $100 factory stripes. I am getting conflicting information. Can they be ordered and installed by the factory for $100, or is the $100 a suggestion and the dealer installs them at the price they set?

This is a dealer installed option at whatever price they set.

Mine that is coming in was originally spec'd from the dealer and had the bonnet stripes, and at a higher price of $248. They weren't able to adjust anything like trim level or painted mirror color when I put money down on it, but they were able to remove the stipes from the order no problem. Dealer installed to my knowledge...

The dealer installs the stripes. I ordered some custom bonnet stripes from a specialist wrapping company through my dealer and they were fitted ahead of collection. Mine aren’t genuine Mini ones as they don’t offer a version with energetic yellow pinstripes. Mine ended up being a little more expensive than Mini’s own, but I was happy with the result.

Check this out. Woo hoo!

This seems like a very self-sufficient group, surely you can do these yourselves for a tiny amount of money and effort. There are countless sites to provide you with quality vinyl appliqués, I just ordered a set of black/silver stripes for $40, you can set up with yellow pinstripes (which I'm also considering) if you like. And yes, I'll stop calling you Shirley.

Interesting that the Electric Collection was a single-year option. Rooftop Grey Electric Collection SEs must be the rarest of the rare.

I just saw a story about a rash of steering-wheel thefts in the Detroit area. It takes thieves much longer to carefully remove the re-sellable airbags from the steering wheel than to just take the whole steering wheel and then extract the airbag later. That means Electric Collection SE owners have two reasons to worry about steering-wheel thieves: the airbag in the center and the unique partial MINI-E logo on the wheel!

I had these custom made for the red one's hood and rockers. Was going to put them on moonwalk, but just put an order in for island.

I was ready to install them when the offer came in for the red one. I picked a bad week to order stripes.

Factory are stickers for 100. I will "surely' swap em out after a year or two since I've never kept a car the way it came from the factory. 20211230_180638.webp

Yes, I saw your awesome custom decals, actually wondered where you got them! Are the factory stickers actual stickers with adhesive? The vinyl appliqués don't seem to have actual adhesive which make them more easily removable. Of course, adhesive can be removed too, but I sweat the potential damage to the underlying paint.

Also, I wasn't given the option of factory stickers with my order, but perhaps when I take delivery they'll try to persuade me to add $300 stripes. Haven't seen any factory add-ons for $100 though.

I built an island blue S so we could get an idea of what it would look like, and one of the options was stripes for 100. When I out my deposit down last night salesman told me they don't come with the 100stripes.

I confirmed here that they were not available om the SE from the factory, and an hour later got the screenshot.

Salesman says the dealer installed are better quality. Also more money. I will try the cheap ones, and go from there.
www.artisticreflection.com did the stripes. I think they are high quality.

I've done some vinyl work in the past, and it's not too bad. Finding the time to do it, on the other hand...

Concur with all. Time is money. If you have the time, why spend the money? I'll try it out on mine when it gets here in 2025. If it sucks I'll have someone else do it! ;)

Was this pronouncement made following a trip to the factory to watch them apply a set of stripes? Or did the factory send out a bulletin saying their stripes will be inferior, but good enough for most MINI customers? Or, "those factory robots can weld OK, but when it comes to the art of applying delicate strips of vinyl, they're not so hot"? Or, "that British vinyl won't last a year"?

Unfortunately my steering wheel didn’t come with the partial Mini plug logo on the bottom spoke of the steering wheel which was a little disappointing. I think UK cars may not have it as the three SEs I’ve driven didn’t have it. It’s just plain old piano black. I’ve been looking on eBay and Etsy for a similar decal I could apply myself, but haven’t found one yet.

Factory stripes were not an option for the UK SE in 22 so it’ll be interesting if they do appear as an option on the 23.

Mine didn't come with the badge either (the cost must have been crippling for BMW!) so I fit my own, harking back to the original and the Mod era I guess:)
Sorry about the angle. I was offered stripes bt the dealership... at £170 all in? I declined the offer. If they can offer them on other Mini models during the build, why not the SE?

Nice! I have a spare energetic yellow “S” the graphics place gave me from the custom side stripes which I offered up to the space but it’s just a little too big to go on without looking silly. I’d really like the plug logo so I’ll keep searching.

What we need is someone out there who could 3D print a few for the members? :)

I think it would be more like a Cricut file to cut out a vinyl decal; not that I could do anything with it since I don’t have a Cricut machine!
