Extensive use of Felt

I've not yet taken this car on forest service roads, but the times will come.

I recently washed it for the first time and realized that Honda used felt not only on the underbody air dams but also in the wheel wells. Anyone gotten these caked up with mud yet? I'd think they would be difficult to clean.
 
I noticed that too. Doesn’t look that durable and I assume it’s choice was based on weight. I wouldn’t want to hit it with a stiff brush. So far regular road dirt comes off with hose spraying.
FWIW, I hit it with the left over Scotchguard from protecting the interior suede. Hope it helps a little.
