This is my first progress report on the construction of an Electrify America / VW DC Fast Charging Station in Sutherlin Oregon. After reading the article:

https://insideevs.com/electrify-america-locate-a-charger-map-doesnt-work/

I went to Electrify America's website and searched for the closest charger, which turns out to be five minutes from my house. It is at a Dairy Queen adjacent to I5 in Sutherlin. I went and talked to the electrical contractor and took some photos. As the site progresses, I will add new posts.

Electrify America currently has two operational stations in Oregon, one 81 miles South of Sutherlin at a Walmart in Grants Pass and another 98 miles North at a Walmart in Albany. Other chargers “Coming Soon” include a Target in Springfield / Eugene, a Walmart in Salem, a Walmart in Tigard, and a Walmart in Sherwood. Perhaps others can provide status reports on these other locations.

The Sutherlin charging station is on I5 at exit 136 (136 miles North of California) in the Dairy Queen parking lot visible to the East of the freeway. This is also the intersection of Hwy 138 that heads West to the Coast at Reedsport. They have already broken ground and trenched from a new electrical power pole to the charging stalls.

(Tried to edit my first post above but ran into the 15 min limit :()
All of the charging locations I mentioned above are on the I5 corridor. In Eastern Oregon along I84 there is an operational site in Huntington and coming soon sites in Island City and Hermiston

I was in Eugene / Springfield yesterday and visited the Gateway Mall. I searched the parking lot at the Target store end and found no sign of the 'Coming soon' charger. Talking with mall management, they said that it had not yet been approved by them. They seemed positive about the project, but also said they typically don't allow construction during the holiday shopping season. So it looks like approval, holidays, contracts, permits, construction, etc. Still possible they will be operational by the end of Cycle 1 in June 2019.

Plugshare updated, thanks for the reminder
That is what I like about PlugShare. The data is kept current by the users. BTW, you send a report to have an icon changed from "maintenance/construction" to "in service." It takes a day or so but makes trip planning much easier.
