Hey all,
I am still getting use to this new car and I enjoy it a ton. There are still some difficult things that I don’t yet understand or “get” within my mindset.
Today, I had an appointment across town and started off in normal or just solid EV mode. Once I made the highway in about 5-6 miles, I switched on HV mode. The range on both the electric and gas started going down. I then got off the the highway, turned off HV to continue in EV or “normal” mode. My HV range continued to diminish and my EV wasn’t going down as quick. In other words, it seemed like the car was still thinking it was in HV mode. I didn’t think much about it, but it was different than my previous experiences.
After my appointment, I came out to my car and started it up normally. When I proceeded to travel home, I kept the car in EV mode and took side roads all the way home. My HV range continued to diminish and so did some of my EV, but not like normal. I guess what I am asking and guessing is that even though my car isn’t in HV mode, it is operating like it is. Why is this? Is it normal for HV to continue to go down when it is not in HV mode?
For further context - I drove a total of 25 miles to and from the appointment. My EV range went down by 15 and my HV range went down by 25. Thanks in advance. I’m probably too paranoid about this, but I figured this is the right place to ask.
