Our 2019 Charity is in the body shop following a t-bone accident. I would consider it a relatively minor accident as the person was not driving very fast and the exterior damage wasn’t crazy.
They just did the full evaluation of the damage and say that the battery is fine. They claim that any damage to the battery would trigger error codes.
I’m not confident in this answer. I want to know if the computer has a 100% success rate in detecting battery damage; and if that’s not the case, are there other diagnostics we could do to be assured that we don’t experience any kind of failure, including a catastrophic issue like the battery catching fire.
So, for those of you who’ve been through a crash, how did the mechanics evaluate damage to the battery? Has anyone experienced a scenario where an undiagnosed issue caused problems later?
