Custom trunk mat

I want a 2 pc trunk mat, so i can still easily access the hidden compartment. I’m thinking of using the oem honda trunk mat for the lower portion and another pc for the upper portion. Has anyone tried to make a custom trunk mat like this?

I bought a cheapie rectangular mat at Wally World ($15) back in Feb of 2018 when it was hard to find aftermarket mats. I cut it to fit. I think HexMat (sp?) makes a product you can cut to fit and I’ve seen others but don’t remember the names. Google is your friend on this. Only disadvantage is that they won’t have a lip around the edges.
I found lifting the long, stiff OEM mat up to access the cubby to be somewhat of a PITA. I would prefer a flexible mat that I could kind of roll back or lift up partially to access the cubby.
 
I have the WeatherTech cargo mat - it's very easy to lift when accessing the underfloor bin and it keeps the entire trunk waterproof.
