Clarify screen wear

Just a hypothetical, but could it be the wearing off of wax on frequent touch points (ie. the wax is over the entire screen, but wore off where you use the screen the most). It might hurt more than help but maybe a wax stripper could fix this?

Looks like Evfred nailed it. Isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth and I'm about half way to a "new" screen working up from the bottom...

Like I said above, live and learn! Just water and microfiber from now on!

I use 70% IPA and water at a 50/50 mix to clean a lot of things. During prep for adding ceramic coating to the car. Even the front and back windows. Clay bar, IPA mix, ceramic. Not much sticks to the windshield now. I'm going to do the same on the inside if I can ever get those two clean enough.

Has anyone had wear anything like this?

About 35,000 miles and a year and a half on our 2018. Never cleaned with anything caustic or abrasive, mostly with a microfiber cloth.

Doesn’t look nearly as bad in use, but still visible, depending on screen display and ambient lighting:

We have an appointment tomorrow morning with AutoNation Honda near Knoxville. We want to document the problem while still under warranty.

Has anyone seen wear like this? And has anyone made a claim with a Honda for warranty coverage and what was the result?

Saw one of these while shopping for one and no less on a CPO from Honda which I thought was a joke. Dealer said he would try to replace it if I made the deal that night which I did. The next day, he said he couldn't replace it as it didn't make financial sense on a used car, so they "un-wind'ed" the deal and I returned the car. But I did see this issue in almost every Clarity I test drove.

From my understanding, there might be an anti reflective layer which can wear off with a combination of touching the same touch points hundreds/thousands of times along w/ improper cleaning IE- using Windex or other abrasive liquids to clean the screen. Same thing happens to my glasses w/ an anti reflective coating on them, it eventually wears and flakes off. The used example I bought had very minor wear, so the moment I bought it, I got a glass screen protector and installed it to protect from further damage.

Since I cleaned mine with alcohol, it shows virtually no wear at all. Leads me to think the actual glass or acrylic or whatever is pretty darn durable and all my apparent “wear” was just uneven wearing away of wax/cleaner buildup.
