I've noticed a lot of supplier announcements of motors and battery systems for EV vehicles. But this means 'generic' parts, not ones designed as part of the EV as a system. As a cheat, a quick kludge, understandable BUT it leads to mediocre EV performance. The 'catalog' managers are deferring the hard problem of hiring and training design engineers to optimize EV performance:
