Not so far away (50 years maybe), but we'll all be dead, there will be no red lights, no stop signs. The cars will talk to each others and the number of accidents will go down by a big factor. In fact we will not even own a car. We will have a plan, where we just send a message that we need a car to go to a certain place at a certain time. The car will arrive at the front of our house at the right moment and will bring us to the restaurant or whatever.
