Bolt sets new highs in September

Of interest, the Bolt EV seems to be setting continual "higher" highs this year...especially since it started to roll-out nationally a couple months ago.

For September, GM sold 2,632 (details), the 7th consecutive month of gains...and also the highest number of monthly sales for any model not named Tesla. Probably looking at hitting the 3k mark in the next couple months if the inventory stays deep enough.
 
Chevrolet Bolt EV deliveries in the US in 2019 could be impacted by the availability of more EV models.

Availability of the Nissan Leaf with the 60 kWh battery pack.

Availability of other EV models of other brands, but with about a similar battery pack and about a similar price tag.

On the other hand, in 2019 more people will have more knowledge regarding EV's in general, and therefore the acceptance of EV's will be more common, and this will result in more people buying an EV, and that will result in a larger marketshare of EV's in general.
 
The availability of the Hyundai Kona EV and the Kia Niro EV in the US in 2018 will have some impact on monthly delivery numbers of the Chevrolet Bolt EV in the US in 2018.
 
Perhaps the real question is the will their be enough new EV models available to absorb the increase of EV sales over the next few years? If so, we shouldn't necessarily see much of an increase to Bolt EV sales as the various new models would take on those extra sales.
 
The Plug-In pie is getting bigger every year. In the next few years substantial EV sales numbers will be achieved. Every car manufacturer wants a piece of this ever growing pie. There will be a substantial number of new EV models coming to the market in the next few years. Competition will lead to lower prices. Not all will be equally popular. A few new EV models will grab the highest sales numbers.

The Tesla Model S has done a great job, it has brought the change in the eyes and minds of people. More and more people now understand that the future of transportation is electric.
