Like most recent BMW concepts (except for the Z4), it looks rather ungainly. Concepts are usually much nicer than production cars, but hopefully it will be the other way around this time!

I was there at the reveal and was able to get up onstage with the first group of reporters. I liked it in person, minus of course the concept stuff that won't make production. The overall shape was nice, kind of like a 4-series Grand Coupe. I think it will look very nice in production form.

I recall that the amazing thing about the concept car versions of the i3 and i8 were that the production versions were stunningly close to the concept versions.

Yes, they were. I haven't had any indication that this will hold true for this vehicle, but the general shape looked great as far as I'm concerned. Minus of course the huge faux double kidney grill up front.

I very much like the shape, i.e. the profile. Agreed that the front end is way too busy and garish, but that will never make it to production like that.

I don't like the doors, especially the window part. It looks like a doodle or 90s space video game, primitive polygons.
