BC Scrap-IT Program Not Continuing in 2022

Found the following on the BC Scrap-It homepage https://scrapit.ca/ If you want the $6,000 and $3,000 rebates for new and used EV's to continue, please sign the letter of support

Unfortunately, our electric vehicle rebate program will not be continuing in 2022. Unhappy about this?
Please feel free to sign our Letter of Support.
We just want to let government know (in a nice way) that residents of BC
would like to see SCRAP-IT continue it’s good work in the future.
 
I signed it. Thanks for letting us know. Unfortunately, we are seeing less govt support for EV adoption these days here in BC. BC Hydro is charging at most of their stations now, as are many municipalities (like my local Township of Langley).

Not only signed it, but also sent a letter to local MLA mentioning this and an excerpt from NDP National platform on EV incentives:
"...will extend federal incentives for ZEVs and provide a break for working families by waiving the federal sales tax on ZEV purchases, and grow these incentives up to $15,000 per family for made-in-Canada vehicles."

I suspect that if the Greens were still holding the balance of power this would be getting more attention from the NDP.

Thanks for that heads up... too much of a hit while everything else is going on, hopefully a similar amount will be reintroduced in the future.
Converting to electric just became a little more difficult in B.C., however our ace in the hole may be the price of gas;)
 
Also, the main subsidy $3000+5000 is getting harder to qualify for, too, with the higher prices of new EV models, and no increase in the thresholds. IMO, I don't think there should be a threshold at all if the aim is to get people to switch from ICE to EV vehicles. If it is about getting the rich to pay more, we already have BC and now Fed luxury taxes where you have to pay additional taxes on vehicles above a threshold. At least that applies evenly to both ICE and Electric vehicles.
