Advanced Car Eye

I installed the BMW Mini version of the Advanced Car Eye 3.0. I am wondering if I wired it correctly. When I start the car the camera is not automatically turned on. I must touch the power button on the camera. It then starts and works correctly. After stopping the car and turning everything off, the camera remains on for a period of time. It eventually turns off. Does anyone out there have their system turn on automatically?

Here's a discussion of that problem on DashCamTalk. One poster suggests the installer didn't get it right. If you can turn it on manually, the ACE is obviously getting power, but is that power switched or continuous? I assume it should be switched power.

Still, if the ACE's power is wired to be always on, it would seem the ACE would start recording when it sensed the motion of you getting into your MINI. Is the delayed shut-off a clue?
