Abetterrouteplanner vs Plugshare

Hi,

I'd started with Plugshare so when Abetterrouteplanner came along, the user interface was too different for me. But this evening, I took time to plan identical routes from Huntsville-to-Coffeyville:

With Plugshare, I can see every 'bail-out' charging location along the route: J1772, Tesla distribution, and NEMA 14-50. I can also check each one for recent user charging sessions. The staff does a good job, not perfect, keeping the charging locations current such as Tesla Superchargers going from 120 kW to 150 kW and ones that are down for repairs (or broke.)

In contrast, "A Better Route Planner" has almost no J1772, Tesla distribution, nor NEMA 14-50 charging locations. I just added one, a "ShorePower", six, NEMA 14-30 charging location but it won't show up even on my map until the 'powers that be' review it. The real problem is the sparse map of L2 charging locations.

I've seen a YouTube channel sponsored by "A Better Route Planner" and though the channel content is good, this product is not for me.

A good route planner needs the ability to map not only the primary route but show the alternatives. Stuff happens on a trip and you need the flexibility to use all resources and stay current. For example, a new SuperCharger is expected to become operational in Lowell AR on Tuesday. I know Plugshare has a placeholder but it isn't clear the other does.

I agree. I have used both and default back to PlugShare for the very reasons you stated . Now if apple would only allow PlugShare to be used on apple car play I would be happy having t on my Kona display.

ABRP also calls out to way too many 3rd-party web resources outside
of their own control for my taste, which they probably have not taken
the time to properly vet. Sorry, if you're going to try and forcibly extend
my trust perimeter and not tell me why, you're done.

Plugshare keeps it pretty much in-house.
