I'm getting into the second half of a 48 state road trip in my Kia EV6 using free charging locations exclusively. I'm heading into Georgia and then up the east coast. Anybody know of any reliable, fast, and free charging stations in the east.

I'm nearly 7k miles in, and I'd hate to lose it now.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I voted my round-trip distance.

I typically drive 700-750 miles per day. Any further, I'll rent a motel room with overnight charging. But in any given 24 hours, 700-750 miles becomes my safe, standard drive day and I need a good 4-6 hours of restful sleep and shower. Even this range, I'll take a catnap as needed to stay fresh and alert.

Very interesting project. I know Electrify America had free charging for a while this month. Is that still going on? Are you counting that under free charging?

Hey Mark, I did visit one EA in Wall South Dakota and was thrilled to find it charging for free. It saved me a couple hours because I didn't need to do a 24kWh charge in Rapid City.

I did hammer free EA's the trip prior to this during which I visited 42 states and 2 provinces while traveling nearly 11k miles. That trip cost only about $80 and gave me the idea for this current trip of 48 for free.
