2022 SE not charging?

Hey folks- I’ve got a 2022 SE that, until recently, rarely had issues charging. After getting the software update to prevent the car from spontaneously bursting into flames, I’ve run into a few issues..

I’ve tried at least 5 Electrify America DC chargers and none of them will initiate a charge anymore (I previously used EA all the time and never had an issue). It accepts the payment and tries to connect, but then fails to do. I have no issues with EVGO.

My building has L2 charger that also worked perfectly fine until now. When I plug the cable in, the station doesn’t recognize that it’s plugged into anything and the car doesn’t acknowledge that the cable is plugged in (even after I witnessed other cars charging from the station without issue).

Any thoughts on why this might be happening? I plan to schedule a service appointment but figured I’d see if anyone has faced a similar issue..

I'm having an almost identical issue with EA chargers and Blink. EVgo seems to work still. Did you ever find answers? Thanks in advance!

I had almost the same situation during my 900+KM round trip from Toronto to Ottawa last December. It was a very frustrating experience. The problem was not where to find a charger, but whether the charger will communicate with the car and start charging. In one session, I had to plug and unplug and do that again about 5 times. And in another situation, after finished charging, I could not unplug. I had to call Mini emergency service, but since that was a Sunday, there was no tech on call. I even called the charger's hotline and requested a reboot, all but unsuccessful. I was thinking of staying overnight in a motel to wait for the tech. Finally, had to use some force and a lot of persuasion and able to unplug. Luckily, there was no error message.

Reported the whole trip to the dealer. They found no error message, but blamed on user issue. Like not plugged in all the way, etc.

Oof. This is not comforting or ideal haha. I'm really not sure how seriously I should take this, since it seems I can still charge at a lot of fast chargers....but completely cutting out EA and Blink as options is pretty limiting. I spent a bunch of time on the phone with EA, tried multiple chargers, and they couldn't even see my session register on their end. I watched other people charge no problem, so it was definitely an issue on the mini side :( Same story with the Blink charger but their customer service is significantly worse than EA

Welcome to a lemon SE as many people complain about charging as mine is 3/3 years old I’m complaining after first week owning /I3 owner for 6 years years /but I’m admitting to drive no issues as I’m not driving a SE for work will be not dependable car after fix for fire ? for HV battery my L2 charger in garage is always on reduced charge mode automatically switching but public L2 charge as I charge only on Charge Point bc my destination never any issues charging 50 times past year works good and my car was never charged on DC as I don’t know if this works with my SE I know as public L2 chargers in USA running on 208 volts as commercial 6.7 kWh and home chargers L2 240 v 7.4 kWh im seeing an issue at that point bc dealers excuse is always they can’t restore condition I complain about it .In my understanding a BMW should read that forums to solve a problems . As I love a car driving around never stranded anywhere as so many complains about charging they should fix that! My charger L2 was send to manufacture coming back is perfect condition!and charging I 3 perfectly.
