2021 Map Update

Did the new map update on my 2021 Ultimate and it not what we were informed of in Hyundai email. it updated the Infotainment System also and completely destroyed the beautiful display we had .If this infotainment screen was like this when I purchased the car 2 months ago I would of never purchased the car! Can not split the screen 3 ways anymore , screen is always black with temp, radio channel and time in the corner of the screen! All icons are now blue and all the color is gone from the screen. I complained to Hyundai Customer Care and stated that everyone is complaining about the update . My Dealership said they should of not updated the infotainment system without notifying us, this was suppose to be just a map update!!!
I asked to have the old software reinstalled and was told that was not possible. I hate this update so much I'm ready to get rid of the car!! Don't update , you won't like it , believe me.

I try to advise not to update to this version whenever I have the opportunity, however in your case, a little late.
The only light on the horizon is there will be another one (I think every 6 months), perhaps the developers will actually listen to what owners really want and steer in that direction in the future:rolleyes:

I really hope you're right.
However, based on there now having been 2 updates (November '20 and now the May '21 one) I can't say they've really taken EV owners into account.
Looking at the UI, it looks to me like these developers are really focussed on the ICE cars.
 
It seems the "Nixie Tube" station display is so popular, it has carried over to Ionic 5:eek:

There is a long-running "VOTE" thread there about the removal of this 3way split. Whether they LISTEN is another thing.

Yes. I had to have my head unit replaced and hate the new software. The climate system interface is useless. And It’s doesn’t default to where you left your screen last. Just the stupid map you can’t see and temp / time. Worst UI ever in a car. When a 3 screen panels was good.
