EV only Range after nearly 4 years... where you guys at?

I would agree. The charging rate at ~30A is probably no greater than most cellphones or other portable devices using Lithium batteries. Also, the advice to fully discharge an electric toothbrush probably dates back to the usage of Ni-Cad batteries. If they didn’t get deeply discharged now and...

    Maximum EV Range

A little over 60 miles. I usually recharge when I get down to around half so I don’t get to measure total EV range very often. But the estimated range I’m given is pretty close to actual. I watch the odometer go up as the range goes down and they pretty much stay synched. I have no doubt that I...

    Maximum EV Range

This my best so far. And that’s just driving around a town that’s flat as a pancake.

    Clarity can handle corners!

You’d probably be more likely to measure that with a smartphone I’d think.

    Disabling the AVAS

Robert S. Wall Emerson of Western Michigan University has argued that several high-end gasoline-powered luxury cars are already quieter than hybrids, and according to his most recent studies, hybrid SUVs were noisier than many internal-combustion vehicles. He concludes that pedestrian safety is...

    Powerful Windshield Wipers

Something else I noticed is that the wipers don’t seem to be directly connected to a gearbox mechanism like all of the other cars I’ve owned. With the wipers off, you can easily move the wiper to any position on the windshield. I thought this seemed a little different.

Battery fully charged but running in full motor/gas mode?

You can ask Chrysler too, because my 2018 Hybrid Pacific will do the same thing. It’s only happened to me a couple of times when going down a steep hill starting out at 100%.

A new way to crack a windshield (for me, anyway)

Yeah, that’s true. I’m thinking of the other windows.

A new way to crack a windshield (for me, anyway)

    I would lean toward #1.

A new way to crack a windshield (for me, anyway)

Probably has something to do with the nature of tempered glass. When it is made/formed it is intentionally cooled in a way that causes compression/tension stress. I suppose a rock chip causes a weakness at that point which perhaps causes some sort of imbalance and then the built-in stress...

    Real World "Fuel" Economy

Just wondering. What kind of ‘wear and tear’ is involved in putting the car in neutral?

A few wonderings about Clarity features as a new owner

I think I may have mentioned already in one of the areas but correctly positioning your mirrors also goes a long way toward eliminating blind spots. It seems that a lot of people have them positioned to see the sides of their vehicles and that just isn’t necessary. Oops! Looks like I mentioned...

A few wonderings about Clarity features as a new owner

I can attest to that. You can definitely hear our 2020, especially in reverse.

    Aluminum body panels

Yeah, you wonder how some people think. I have done the same and parked out in the ‘boonies’ area of a parking lot with at least ten spaces between me and the next closest car. Lo and behold, I come out of the store only to find that someone has chosen to park in the space right next to me! It...

    Honda Clarity vs BMW 530e

I’m not trying to be argumentative or anything but I’m wondering why you would choose a PHEV when you drive so many miles and rarely charge it up? Why not just buy a regular hybrid?
