Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

Wow, way to burst my bubble. Here, I thought it was a custom paint color that BMW created just for me.

Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

That was the one that I ordered! :) “Pining” might be a bit of an overstatement, but I also said “kinda.” (I’m not full-blown John Cusack holding the boombox over my head or anything like that, but I do think it’s awesome lookin’.)

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

Taking Teslarati’s earlier post (#156) at face value, the previous guidance had this language: What Is a Written Binding Contract? In general, a written contract is binding if it is enforceable under State law and does not limit damages to a specified amount (for example, by use of a liquidated...

    Pics or it didn’t happen?

Well, then here are a couple of pics! Yesterday, I cancelled my order for a 2023 BRG Iconic and bought this gently used (1027 miles) 2022 Moonwalk Grey Metallic SE from a local VW dealer after test driving it on Monday. As a Signature Plus trim level, it isn’t quite as well equipped as the...

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

I stopped by my MINI dealer this afternoon to cancel my order. In speaking to the sales manager on duty, I got the impression that they’re still (i.e., on November 22, 2022) telling their customers that as long as their MINI SE orders were in before the IRA of 2022 was signed, they should be...

Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

I just test drove one this afternoon, a 2022 with barely over 1K miles on it. (It still had ‘new-car-smell,’ FFS!). And, it was just about $7500 cheaper than the one that I ordered. The funny thing is that it’s still better equipped than the one that I ordered, by virtue of the features that...

Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

Well, the one that I ordered now in my dealer’s new inventory, listed as “in transit.” (Might have been listed a while ago, but I only learned the VIN this week.)

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

Right! My screenshot above didn’t really hint about what my actual question was. In fact, I was actually seeking to tap into some of those very “street smarts.” My question was whether they have any intel (e.g., an IRS bulletin or advisory, anything really) about whether the EV tax credit...

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

The overwhelming majority of debate on this post, I’d argue, is centered on the “binding legal contract to purchase” language. The fact that my firm’s advice on this topic didn’t even bother to delve into those intricacies of that transition language, and was offered on an unqualified basis...

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

As someone who has repeatedly advised folks to consult with a tax professional, I finally had the occasion to reach out to the CPA firm that prepares my tax returns to seek their input. Their e-mailed response appears in the screenshot below. In a word — yikes! Flip side — if I want to be...

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

I’ve been tracking the used market. There’s not as big a reduction in price that one might hope for (buying used rather than new), but I think we’ve seen the supply chain issues result in a few features being eliminated on new builds, so the 2022 and older 2023 models seem better equipped.

2024 MINI Direct Sales (2026 BMW)

Per https://www.motortrend.com/news/bmw-mini-rolls-royce-2024-direct-sales-dealership-markup/ (bold below for emphasis): According to its third quarter global business update, BMW indicated that it's planning to introduce a direct sales model in multiple global markets starting as soon as 2024...

Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

Is your premise the same as mine in the other thread? (i.e., as supply increases, prices for new and used SEs will drop?). If so, then I would argue that the data you’re presenting is inconclusive in the short term; we don’t know yet which ones will end up being delivered to the parties that...
