Is an EV MINI really a MINI?

It would be great if we could see the future! It would also be great if the SE range could work for my use case. One never knows about quality of a new product but at least BMW is working with an experienced partner. If the new MINI EV doesn’t provide the MINI driving experience or at least...

Driving SE 80 miles every day for 10 days

Just wish I could count on the kind of range you are getting. Where I live, weekend day trips of 50-60 miles each way are typical and charging is not reliable. That plus the uncertainty about the rebate Les me to cancel my SE order and lease a new ICE MINI instead.

Is an EV MINI really a MINI?

If one is using it for its intended purpose as you point out, I completely agree. It iunfortunate for those who would find it perfect but just need a bit more range because of our personal new case.

    Speculative article on 2024 SE

I agree that seems unlikely especially given how far along they are with the plans in China. But it would be fine by me if they shifted to making the newest EVs in Oxford—preferably in time for my lease expiration on my 2023 ICE Hardtop!

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

I had a 2013 S with 90k mikes on it. Exhaust system needed replacement at a minimum right away. It had accumulated lots of parking lot dings. As it approached 100k who knows what else was going to go? And in comparison to my 2023 Hardtop it of course did not have nearly the bells and whistles...

    Speculative article on 2024 SE

I don’t disagree about the fun factor. Or that the range is a bug. It’s just a reality that impacts the overall value of the vehicle to me personally. And I have plenty of fun in my nearly 40 mpg new Hardtop. I definitely would prefer a MINI EV, just not this one. I imagine, for example, very...

    Speculative article on 2024 SE

Having decided to cancel my SE order I am hoping for the best with the next gen model. Given the poor reliability of charging stations, the range on the SE would have made 180-200 mile drives to see family a major hassle. I do wish the SE could have been tweaked to even 160-180 mile real range...

Will my SE still quality for tax credit

While awaiting delivery for my June SE order, my old S was showing signs it might not make it so I leased a new Hardtop. My thought was that with the federal and state EV credits and overall demand for cars, I could turn in the lease early when the SE arrived. Dealer confirmed this option. But...
