519 is sort of a lie. The car uses the average mpg of a combination of gas and electric miles to give you the EV range. Go thru the optional displays to find the average mpg. It will be high. That number can be up to 190.9 mpg. That is multiplied by the number of gallons in your tank. Take hart, the range is adjusted as you drive until its close to the actual mpg for driving in gas (HV) mode. You will not see this happen until your EV range is zero and your gas tank is down to 1/4 tank.
To find your actual gas mileage you will have to go old school when you are on a long drive. After you fill up after your EV is 0, reset your range to zero and the next time you fill up without charging up the EV, divide the miles you have driven by the gallons you bought. I did this while on a long drive and found i get 44 mpg on HV driving. If I stay in Econ Mode, i get 55 miles per gallon consistently. Good luck and enjoy your Clarity. P.S. Econ mode is what your car is in when you first start it up.

The EV range refers to the projected distance you can travel on battery power alone. In my experience the EV range is calculated from data from past drives and the ambient temperature.

If you leave your car in ECON Mode, it will be in ECON Mode when you start it up. If you leave your car in NORMAL Mode, it will be in NORMAL Mode when you start it up. However, if you leave your car in SPORT Mode, it will be in NORMAL Mode when you start it up.
