Just curious, what do you think is the most convincing claim or argument for Donald Trump?
Change my mind by sharing the strongest argument you have for Donald Trump. No response it perfectly OK.

  3. Economy, personal safety, standing up to China, peace in the mid east, personal freedoms, handling covid, helping African Americans and other minorities, and his courage standing up to the media mob. And lots more...

In 2016, I bet against Trump and had to eat my shorts in front of friends. Fortunately my wife saved me, by getting a special "shorts" cake for me. Since then he has proved me wrong on almost everything that I had predicted would happen. Just a couple months ago, polls looked bad, but I knew it wasn't over,... still debates to come. I just could not see Americans voting for a senile and corrupt Biden. I see now polls are trending back in Trump's direction. JP Morgan now telling investors to prepare for a Trump win.

Any particular USA economy aspect? For example:
    • unemployment
    • GDP
    • subsidizes
    • stocks
    • bankruptcies
Like the seven blind men describing an elephant, each had a different opinion. Fortunately, these elements are easily tracked and graphed.

And this was all while fighting China with tariffs... Biggest benefit was tax cuts and cutting red tape regulations. Future benefits to come as US becomes more independent from Chinese control. Putting more money in the hands of citizens is always a good thing, incl from tax cuts, more investment growth, net worth, jobs, and wage growth. I think 2021 and beyond will be block buster economic growth that will benefit everyone if Trump wins. Right now everything is on hold waiting for the election and pandemic to be over.

  8. Big Trump rally happening today on the markets because of the latest polls showing him gaining on Biden (pretty well even now in the battleground states). Except for TSLA, which is getting hit because Musk announced he wants to sell $5B stock offering. I guess he too, decided that TSLA shares have topped.

Biggest mistake Biden and the Dems made was let these protest riots carry on too long. They finally recognized that this was hurting them in the polls, so time now to stop them and save property and lives. And blaming Trump is ringing very hollow. People aren't that stupid.

    The pandemic response Trump lead?

FYI, one day in the market is a moment in time but I'm playing a long game. I share the TSLA owner view that the $5B is actually a way to facilitate joining the S&P500. The flexibility avoid having S&P500 copy-cat funds from bidding against each other and driving the stock price too high followed by a price crash. In effect, Tesla is managing TSLA price to moderate a forced, bidding war.

So Alabama announced adding Federal $300/wk to unemployment checks that typically average ~$160/week (according to TV news report.) We're seeing a lot of COVID-19 effects on our economy. For example, bar staff are severely impacted by closing alcohol sales early, 11 pm. One of my favorites, Toco Loco, went out of business two weeks ago.

    As Joe Biden said: https://joebiden.com/the-biden-emergency-action-plan-to-save-the-economy/

FIRST, use all available authorities, including the Defense Production Act to turn the tide on this epidemic. Joe Biden knows that no economic strategy will work if we don’t stop the virus. In recent days, there’s been talk that we have to choose between public health and our economy. That’s not just a false choice. It’s a dangerous one.

It would be catastrophic to reopen everything without a plan, and then have a spike in cases and shut it all back down. That would just mean more loss of life and economic pain.
    . . .
SECOND, launch a task force reporting directly to me to make sure every dollar going out the door gets to the people who need it — fast.

Joe Biden led the implementation of the Recovery Act in the last crisis. He knows it’s all about priorities. Here would be his:

    • Keep as many people on the payroll as possible and make Americans whole for lost hours and wages. Joe Biden would expedite aid to businesses who commit to helping workers stay employed through the crisis, so they can get back to work when conditions allow.
    ...
THIRD, bring the leaders of Congress together to build the next deal. This was a good start. But more must be done. Congress approved direct cash relief — $1,200 per person to help working families through this crisis. But it’s a one-off. And Congress didn’t include direct student loan forgiveness, or Social Security boosts for seniors, or cost-free treatment for COVID-19, full paid sick leave for our workers, or sufficient fiscal relief to states.
    ...

So what medical advice did Trump give during the pandemic?

  10. Yes, $300 is the result of Trump's recent exec action when the Dems rejected the Repubs latest covid relief plan. It was better than nothing...

My personal opinion is that they should shut down all bars and not allow alcohol sales in restaurants until this pandemic is over. Or raise the drinking age to 40, and stop all pot sales as well. I know this would not be too popular. But of course all this is up to the state and county leaders on how they want to manage and open up the economy. The feds can't mandate it, only provide guidelines and help as allowed.

My understanding is FEMA funds were redirected at the start of hurricane and tornado season. Regardless, failure to address the pandemic that pretty much every developed country handled has been following Trump's leadership (and medical advice.) Brazil is rapidly following Trump's pattern and it is not working there either.

    What are Trump’s executive actions?
Trump unveiled issued executive actions, including three memorandums and one executive order, meant to assist Americans affected by the economic downturn.

One memorandum halts federal tax collection for anyone whose bi-weekly pre-tax paychecks are below $4,000. A second memorandum boosts unemployment insurance by $400 a week, though cash-strapped state governments are expected to foot a fourth of the bill. The last memorandum defers the collection of student loan payments and waives interest fees on student loans until the end of the year.

The last executive action is an order that calls on the heads of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to “consider” a moratorium on evictions.

    Are the executive actions legal?
It is unclear. The US constitution gives Congress the power to spend money and set taxes, while the president can approve or veto those decisions. Through his executive actions, Trump is trying to step around Congress, which could be unconstitutional.
    . . .

What do the executive actions do to unemployment insurance?
Trump called for a “lost wages assistance program” that would use money from the Department of Homeland Security’s disaster relief fund, typically used for natural disaster relief, to provide unemployed Americans an additional $300 a week. The program is expected to last until the fund, which the White House says has more than $70bn, reaches $25bn, or 6 December, whichever comes first.

The memorandum says that an extra $400 would ultimately be given to unemployed Americans, with the expectation that states will shoulder $100 a week to top off the federal government’s $300. This is unlikely to happen as most state budgets have been completely decimated by the downturn.
    . . .

BTW, I don't follow Murdoch media as they have a bad reputation of lying by omission and publishing fiction as if fact. Still, if you like them, fine by me.

  14. Well, it is pretty obvious what media you follow and what you want to believe. I don't follow any particular media actually. I prefer to get my news directly from the horse's mouth (from all sides), and not be influenced or told how to think by the media. In general, I don't like big govt and having them control what I do, and become dependent on their handouts. I'm not worried about myself, as I am quite happy with my life as it is now. But I also want my children and grandchildren to have a good life as well.

We probably have different opinions on the scientific method and engineering. Still, your sources are fine for you ... but not for me (Perfect World Devo.)

  16. Well, each to his own, that's for sure. Wouldn't life be boring if we all agreed? What has worked for me, is hard/smart work, good analysis (and knowing what is important), and making good decisions/choices in business and with family/friends.

But to finish up on Trump, to be clear, I am not a fan. Like I said I was totally against him in 2016. At that time I thought he was a Dem and just hijacked the Repubs. And I fully recognize his character flaws (extreme narcissist, rudeness, etc, etc). But watching him the last 4 years, have learned to also respect him, not for what he says, but his actions, and taking bold action, not just the easy kick the can down the road approach. At first I thought he was totally wrong with his policies (going after China, trade, mid-east, etc). But he has proved me wrong on many things, so now I also listen to what he says. And what is the alternative, Biden and socialism??

Trump claims he didn’t have mini-strokes last year. A month ago, he bragged about passing the “Man, woman, camera, person, TV” cognitive test. It is the typical test given to someone who is suspected of having a stroke.

  19. Just another TDS attack,... won't end. And has been totally debunked by Trumps doctors. Biden on the other hand gets lost in the middle of sentences, even with a teleprompter... But he makes a good puppet for the Dems. He will say and do what he is told, no matter his past principles or what he has said and done in the past. At least with Trump, he is what he says, and tries to keep his promises and do what is best for the common person (not the elites who hate him so much).

Can't wait for the debates. Biden will get slaughtered... Although big question is if he will even go through with them. I'm sure they will find a way/excuse to get him from taking that stage.

Evidence? Brain scan? Blood flow tracking? PET scan to map brain activity?

Let's see, how about this letter: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/385765-trumps-ex-doctor-says-trump-dictated-letter-claiming-he-would-be

    BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 05/01/18 07:26 PM EDT . . .

President Trump’s former personal physician claims that Trump dictated the 2015 letter he wrote praising the then-presidential candidate’s health.

"He dictated that whole letter. I didn't write that letter," Dr. Harold Bornstein told CNN. "I just made it up as I went along."

"His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary,” read the letter, which Bornstein had initially said he wrote himself. “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency."

Then there was that former Navy doctor ...

I'm not really FOR Trump, just against Biden..
    1) Trump is less bad for the 2nd amendment
    2) Taxes will be lower under Trump
    3) Less regulation for Business which helps small business.. As a Libertarian, I'm anti regulation..
I have never voted for a candidate, just against the worse evil..
I have no hope for American Politics. The system is entirely corrupt and big corporations own Washington. We are a Corporatist, not Capitalist Nation where big business gets favors for political donations.. It is both sides that are bad..

The Federal deficit has exploded under Trump and the Republican Senate and short Republican House. Eventually we'll have to balance the tax code to pay off the Republican memorial debt.

As for regulation, do you breath air (see California, Denver, and others SMOG)? Do you drink or shower in tap water (see Flint water)? You're deregulation rights end at my nose and skin.
