Hi, last year I bought a Tesla Model 3 and installed a Tesla wallbox (gen2) in my garage. Today I just bought a second EV, a 2017 Kia Soul EV, that is going to be here in a couple of days.
My question is: what is the best option for someone in my situation? I know I can buy and adaptor for the wallbox and charge the Kia, but it makes me wonder how many Amps the tesla charger will output to the Kia. I just want to be energy efficient, so the charger is not pushing 40A into the little Kia battery.
Does anybody have experiences with using tesla wallboxes with other EVs?
thank you so much for your help.

The Kia will take exactly as much as it wants. The wallbox will probably advertise a *capability*
of 40 or more amps, as does my own EVSE, but any car's onboard charger knows its own max
rate and only draws that much.

It will only draw what it needs, but be sure to get a Tesla Adapter that can handle the amps of your wallbox, that is probably the most important part, as it might not work properly otherwise.
