2024 Kona electric (Ultimate) Canadian model

I’ve been getting this alert “Driver Assistance System limited. Ultrasonic sensor blocked.” for the past couple of days. It seems to occur whenever I come to a full stop.

I live in an area of Canada where winter means we deal with freeze/thaw cycles and temperatures fluctuate between +5°C and -5°C. Right now we’re below zero. Forecast calls for thawing temperatures on Tuesday.

I’ve tried cleaning the 10 round spots (sensors?) and 4 cameras around the car several times to no avail. I’m hoping that some sensor is frosted over on the inside of the bumper and will come back to life with the warmer temps on Tuesday.
Anyone else have any experience with this issue?

  2. Yes. I've had it. I just attribute it to road crud.

Perhaps some day EV manufacturers, most of which use these types of sensors, need them to be at the very least heated to continue working in inclement weather. It sure doesn't take much to disable them in typical winter weather conditions.
