I finally got buyback approved from Kia, waiting on the paperwork to finish.
Love the Niro but can't see myself buying one again. Most likely lease it or get Model Y.

So, they will be replacing my E711 with a new motor. I do not know which new motor.

I'll let everyone know how this goes...

Does anyone else have an E712 installed? Does this resolve the issue? My dealership is still waiting on Kia to approve my *2nd* motor replacement.

Kia has approved my second traction motor replacement. Service personnel have indicated that the replacement motor to be installed in the E712. It is currently being shipped.

Will report back once it is installed.

Ours was leased already. What kind of buyback options did they offer you?

They use California state formula for milage deduction. I think it is about 35c / mile

Well, it's in. Wish me luck.

Coincidentally, the day before my 2nd motor went in, my charging port door got jammed. It has also already been replaced. Kia looked at it and will be ordering a 2nd replacement for that too.

    Incredible!

Wow. I have 6500 miles on my 2020's 710 motor, but I haven't heard a peep of the knocking/clunking sound. I just don't care for the motor whining from 45 -> 35 MPH.

My appointment is scheduled for this Wednesday. Did they seem to be aware of the problem when you told them about it? I'm wondering if i'm going to have an issue with getting my motor replaced. I am also taking it in because my backup camera has moisture in it, my automatic headlights will not turn off in daylight, my hatch will not open all the way on it's own and the motor issue.

How long did it take from the time you took it in, until the time the motor was put in? How long of a process once they ordered and installed?

Well, they were aware of the issue because they had already replaced my first one. They said they also replaced someone else's as well. I think I'm fortunate that my technician recognizes what an EV *should* sound like. My clicking was not egregious and required an astute listen to pick it up.

From diagnosis to back in my driveway, it was one week. I actually didn't have to lift a finger. They picked up the vehicle for each step (diagnosis and replacement). I am very lucky to have the dealer I have.

Ours has been in since before Halloween waiting on new reduction gear. Still.

If it's been there that long awaiting parts, I'd definitely be looking to lemon law the vehicle at that point.

Are the dealers supplying a loaner car while your car sits in the shop?

I'll find out Wednesday when I take mine in for this. I think it depends on the dealer. My local Kia dealer did give me one when they were fixing an issue with my air vents a few months ago.

They are covering cost of rental car.

We have to wait for them to return the car to us to Lemon Law it which kind of forces us into taking one of the options in their buyback letter that gets us into another electric car.
