Aptera is currently testing several methods of encapsulating/assembling solar cells into viable automotive solar body panels. This testing is a two-month-long process of subjecting multiple panels to heat, cold and humidity.

Aptera vehicles offer four levels of solar outfitting: Roof, dashboard and tail (standard on all vehicles); Standard & hood (+$300); Standard & hatch (+$600); "All panels" - standard, hood & hatch (+$900).

Interestingly, Aptera's claims about solar charging capabilities are derived from data acquired using a simulated solar Aptera mounted on the roof of founder Chris' home.
