From what I have seen, the MX30 has an incredibly small range.

  3. Plus, it's even more expensive (2022 Mazda MX-30 EV will start at $42,150) than the MINI Cooper SE ($40,990), has less range, and may only be available in Quebec and B.C. And, it's a bit slow for an EV, if that matters.

Already mentioned availability of only in Quebec & BC in post #40.

No concern about range as it is stated 161 kms. Too many obsessed with range and will accept 90's type engineering ICE based design just for better range as well as ICE style interior instead of modern engineering.

    - The design of the freestyle doors makes vehicle look like a 2 door.
    - HUD display is standard on even the GS version.
    - modern looking interior
    - audio system is better than average

I am interested in the MX30 as well. I'd like to replace my Colorado pick-up with an EV. I wonder whether it will be rated to tow a small utility trailer. Range isn't really a concern as this would be a 2nd car to use to commute to work and get around town. We have a Tesla M3 LR for trips. The only problem with those doors(I have the same issue with my Colorado, and Honda Element before that) is that when you are parked next to another car and open both doors you are kind of painted in to a corner.

After months of just paying off debts including some I forgot about, I have zero debts. Now just the regular monthly expenses.

I finally ordered Tesla Model 3, white exterior and black interior with base 18" wheels in SR version limited to 151 km range.

Surprised financing approved so quickly for 72 months with 2.4% interest.

After the $5000 EV rebate, price is down to $41,279 compared to $49,990. For me the over $8000 difference was too much money. These prices before tax.

Minimum requirements was RWD and decent performance characteristics including handling.

I sold my 2019 VW Jetta Execline in April, so it took from May to the first week of October to pay off debts ( mastercard & fairstone credit in full ) as I used money normally paid for car payment plus additional $600 monthly to clear debts. Was not easy to do but when I set a goal, normally attain it.

Yes, would prefer the Standard Range Plus but this would mean being car poor . Monthly income not high enough to cover payments for additional $8600 + tax, interest = $9718 +

basically paid $6000 more than the VW Jetta to drive Tesla

I'm a little confused as 151 km looks to be 94 mi. In the USA we have two variants:
    • 220 mile range - Tesla Model 3 Standard in 2019
    • 260 mile range - Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus in 2021
I remember once seeing a Tesla Model 3 version that is range limited to meet Canadian rebate limits. Is this one of those?

There was some speculation that after purchase, the owner could buy an optional range improvement upgrade ... after having gotten the Canadian purchase rebate. If so, ENJOY!!

I am looking forward to finally having a Tesla. I been in a few and driven an 2016 Tesla Model S once. I decided that my next car has to be electric.

Almost ordered an 2021 Escape PHEV but changed my mind as it was not fully electric as well as fact it was FWD and an SUV.

Red has always been my favourite colour. Most of my Ford Mustangs and Mazda Miatas have been red as well. Even my Apple watch is project red model.

The other aspect I like about Tesla is that it feels futuristic because of its interface, OTA updates. Tesla proved that electric cars are better than ICE vehicles.

I won't throw shade at the non-Tesla EVs as they are currently first generation. So we see a mixed bag of early EV drivetrains often burdened by legacy ICE design elements. Regardless, they are providing a wider selection of body styles for the limited quantities being produced. I give them an "A" for effort but lower grades for these early versions.

    Update to this…
Tesla had discontinued the Tesla Model 3 ( limited range 151kms model ) and EV rebate no longer available on current version of Model 3.

Now lost the $250 order deposit unless order new version of Model 3.

Kind of depressed with all of this. Only good thing is that I continue to be debt free with MasterCard balance at zero, so I continue to save money for deposit of EV.

Now between trying to decide on 2022 Mach-E or 2022 VW ID4.

One one hand since I owned many different ICE Ford Mustangs, Mach-E is appealing but VW ID4 still has EV rebate

Regardless have to stay RWD for driving characteristics

    Opinions appreciated

It sucks that you are getting the runaround on the Tesla. Someone I know was getting jerked around by Tesla as well and ended up buying a MME (premium extended battery and AWD), he is loving the vehicle.

If you are on the Canadian Ford website it is not up to date on the 2022 model changes which sucks when trying to build and price your vehicle. I was building a Select, SR, AWD with the comfort and appearance package. The comfort and appearance package is no longer available, I was getting it for heated steering wheel only. I have to go with the comfort and tech package now which adds about $1,400 to the price.

The positive with the MME is the ramping up to producing over 200k units per year, this should help make them more easily available.

    What is an MME?

Best practice is to spell out a name followed by the acronym in parentheses.

It's an electric SUV that Ford is making, Mustang Mach-e. It is one of the vehicles the original poster is looking at purchasing.

If you'd posted "Mach-e" I would instantly understood. Asking Mr. Google about "MME", we come up with:
    • Morphine Milligram Equivalents (MME) Calculator - MDCalc
    • MME - Wikipedia
    • What Is MME & Why Is It Important to Pain Management?
    • MME Home Midwest Motor Express
    • MME English Definition and Meaning | Lexico.com
    Hopefully this provides some insights.

I wish the comfort and appearance package was still available and the new 67V Comfort/Technology package is $4140 which is too expensive. The Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat PSB is $800.

I hope some of the issues mentioned on Paak, or vehicle just not moving with " Please pullover safely " warning and other software problems has been resolved for 2022 model year.

Looks like the EPA finally got these metrics:
    upload_2021-12-16_8-38-15.png
The bottom two rows are: (1) estimated annual electric cost, and (2) cost to drive 25 miles.
