  1. Location and trim would help. There have been a few reports of ABS+ still on display after the update, but I see no reason to still have it if the algorithm has been changed.

Yes, oddly the regen defaults were not restored (because in AV memory?) but auto regen was turned off, as I discovered when I had to apply the brake!

  4. Thanks for that, I will try to go through the menu after I get mine done on Friday:oops:

It’s funny how you get used to auto regen and when it's gone the sensation of hurtling toward the car in front is quite alarming.

  8. Just got mine back with the software update installed. Sport mode was on, aux battery saver+ has disappeared and the auto regen was also not on (all other settings remain the same- cluster, center screen, switch block and climate). Thanks for the heads up SkookumPete!
I also opened the hood when I got home, and both battery terminal caps were lying on the 12V battery, upside down (not attached). So a heads up to all just to check, by all rights they should have fallen down into the motor compartment, fortunately they did not.
So at the same time I measured the 12V battery (12.25 V) - lowest I have seen other than the one time when it was at 4.6 v after a Bluelink hangup.
So now I have the car in run mode again to top off the battery- see 12V battery thread post.

  9. Isn't that interesting... Seeing your post here I just went into the garage and checked mine. Sure enough, the positive battery cap was not snapped down. The negative side was OK. Makes me wonder how meticulous (or not) they were with the motor/reduction gear and water pump fixes. What is it with these guys?

  10. One other setting changed as well, the maximum percent charge on AC as well as DC was changed to 100%. The maximum AC charging current settings were also at maximum both 120 V and 240 V, which might be wise to check if you are using the reduced settings. ( I have never used the lower current settings and have always kept them at maximum).

  11. Hey, me too. The positive cap was up and the negative one was missing.

But it was my own fault. I messed up when reinstalling my BM2 battery monitor.

So I had to rotate the BM2 positive lead so that cap could snap down. And after several minutes peering down behind the battery with a flashlight, I spotted something black sitting way down on a metal pan. It was the negative cap. And that was after driving 50 miles, mostly freeway. Lucky!

BTW the reprogramming didn't fix my issue with the 12v battery repeatedly going dead. Details here.

  13. Must have been fixed by the same "tech"
    Glad you recovered it.
Maybe its an unwritten part of the update

Sorry for the late reply. I'm in Belgium, the Kona is a 2019 Sky Sensation.

Would also love input on how to check the software versions.

  15. Like I mentioned before the abs+ is still in my cluster but I noticed the winter mode is now gone. Checked with the dealership a second time and then said it was absolutely done so seems like abs+ remains for me.

  16. Something is not right. On mine, EV Settings/ Winter mode is still on and selectable. It even retains some EV Economy history; 14 days dated pre update to June 19, the update was done July 3. The the frequency of the Hyundai emblem indicator light has increased since the update as well, definitely not 24 hour cycles like before. That is a good indication if update was properly inclusive with the new charging algorithm.
I would pursue this further either with Hyundai themselves or another dealer. ;)

  17. Just checked mine, and the Winter option is still available on the HU EV settings. I saw it was still checked on, so I un-selected it. Isn't that supposed to be still there? My aux battery saver option is gone, though, from the dash settings.

  18. We seem to be all over the place here. Deleting winter mode has not been mentioned by others as related to the update. I think where it had been reported "missing" perhaps a year+ ago, the battery heater was not actually present in that Kona version. There was mention in a SpeakEVs thread of an update that failed to complete and showing ABS still present.

  19. Sorry guys, I took a look through the menus and found "Winter Mode". I only found that option once and then read about it on another thread...and never went back to it. I went from memory to where I thought it was and I was wrong for the location of it. So false alarm. I do still have the aux+ in the cluster...will probably be following up again to confirm with them since it still does appear no update was done.

  20. Similar issue here after battery software update. Negative cap was off and lying on the side. Lucky it didn't fall out.

  21. Yup same here, in fact after my last visit the negative terminal cap went completely missing. Makes me recall what old finish carpenter said to me about how to judge the quality of finish carpentry in a new house. Go to last bedroom closet furthest the from the entrance and have a look at the attention to detail on the installed trim on the inside of the closet, its it good there it will be everywhere else. If the trim is crappy at the front door well you have a problem.

  22. They should have put a "plastic string" on it like the charge port caps.:(

  23. See Modifications and Tweaks thread post # 152;)
