I'm scheduled for my Software update this coming Monday..

  3. Does this update reset the vehicle settings?

I took snapshots of the User Settings and the Setup menus, just to be safe. Going in tomorrow.

  4. It reset my charge limits from 80% to 100%.

  7. I would think it would reset all menus to "factory default" .
Which is not a really bad thing as it gives the opportunity to once again familiarize with the different settings.

  8. The update did not reset all setting on my car (e.g., my regen level remained at level 3 where I set it).

I think that it only reset/changed settings related to the battery. REGEN also stayed at the setting that I had it set to even though driving mode was normal and not ECO when I got the car back.

  10. there is an article about it here: https://insideevs.com/news/428159/hyundai-updates-battery-monitoring-system-fire/

  12. I got my update today and the GOM definitely went up. Mine is always high b/c I tend to get around 5 miles per kWh but I think it still increased about 7%. I was showing 298 miles on Econ mode at 99% battery.

I saw someone above ask how long it took, mine was basically an hour and a half but I did get the tires rotated as well. I forgot to look for aux battery saver, I think that's the item people said has changed for them. Actually I did go through the menus and didn't see that now that I think of it. I will refresh my memory where it's supposed to be and then confirm for sure if it's in my menu now.

Update: Ok yeah, confirming that aux battery saver is no longer an option on my menu. So I assume it's just always on or else the car determines when it's needed.

  13. I actually booked mine in for July 3rd for that update and was told 1 hour to update, and another hour to wash the car.
I was going to hold off for a bit to see if my tapping noise re-appeared, but it hasn't for a while. The techs advised me not to worry as they still have me covered if/ when it does, and will proceed with the motor shaft rotation 180 degrees first, motor replacement second and gearbox third (if the first 2 don't fix). Kind of a relief on my part.
The original reason I went in was to pick up a 10mm nut to hold my bottom panel cover on which must have fallen off - this I noticed a couple of days ago when a large puddle of water was on the ground under the car and saw it draining between the battery and the flopping panel.
My first thought was water pump:eek: but upon checking the drain tube coming off the heat pump coil it was coming from there, so doing its condensate drain job:rolleyes: (it was water- not coolant) and I had just finished a lengthy drive with the heat pump on.
Long story short- they gave me a couple of nuts, N/C, so now I have an extra one rolling around in my junk pile in the center storage box.:)

    Just went for the service.
The AUX option is still in the menu and all of the settings did not change.
As a matter of fact, I seriously doubt they did anything on the software side.

  15. Unless I'm blind they didn't perform the High Voltage battery service. I just went yesterday and my receipt has a line item for:

"2019-2020 Kona Electric (OS EV) High Voltage Battery Update
    Cause: Performed Campaign 3 F
    00D005R0 BMS & MCU & VCU & IGPM UPD.
    996957 WH "

I don't see anything like that on yours

  16. I had the same kind of thing shown on my service receipt. I called them the next day and asked if they had actually done it since the receipt was unclear. They said their warranty system said they did...but I didn't get any temporary range increase which was mentioned (assume due to resetting something) and I just checked my cluster menu as well and found the aux+ battery saver is still there. Is there anyone who got the update in Canada that can confirm that the aux+ battery saver disappears from the cluster menu after the update?

Others have had the update in Canada, perhaps they might chime in. You could also check if the brake lights come on :

    to verify.

My Canadian 2019 Kona Preferred had the aux+ battery saver option disappear after my 'software update'.

You’re right. I don’t see it either. They didn’t install the update most likely. I went to Hyundai’s Toronto downtown location in case anyone is curious.

  20. Didn't change any of mine - not even the trip odometers.

Yes, it did that, although they showed up as 127% in the Bluelink app. I've seen that before.

And the app wouldn't let me set it back to 80% - kept timing out. So I did a "Force stop" on the Android app, and then used the app to lock the car. One of those shook the problem loose - I think locking it - and the 80% setting took.

My Kona 2019 was in this morning for the same recall. Leaving the dealership my range also jumped (as expected) but.. second time I wanted to turn the car on -> EV error, can't get out of P mode. Car effectively unusable. Odb reset causes the car to drive (once) and goes back in error after power cycle. Some module needs to be replaced. Very unhappy with the service.

Got my car back today after module replacement (Battery maintenance module? The engineer was very vague).

Checked for aux battery saver+ -> setting is still there and active. Should I be worried that the update wasn't done correctly?
