I'm pretty sure this forum would erupt with joy (as will happen in Detroit when the lowly Lions win the Super Bowl) and the word would spread like wildfire if there was any reasonably-priced way to obtain this holy number.

I submitted a ticket to Blue Driver about this capability. Here was their response.

Thanks for contacting us! Unfortunately, these are not standard OBDII live data PIDs and are not currently supported by BlueDriver. We will be working on 'enhanced' or manufacturer live data for your vehicle in the future, but there aren't currently any firm timelines for when this will be complete.

New features are added in order of demand so I'll record your vote!

If you have a Blue Driver I suggest you also submit this feature request. It sounds like the more requests they get for this the higher on the priority list it goes.

This is the reply I just got:

    Hello!

You're the second person to ask this today about this exact vehicle.

Well, I'm going to give it try this weekend. I bought a keyfob at Amazon and will try to program it this weekend with my AP200, I will report if I was successful or not.

Hahaha, nice! Keep em coming folks.

It’s not rocket science. The Fortin guys in Montreal figured out who come up with ICE remote starter for RAV4 Prime just in a couple of days (someone left them their Prime for couple of days), so yeah...

just tell them there are about few thousand folks here waiting to pull the trigger. I am sure that we can all place preorders if they commit to getting the data in timely manner.

Although it may be nice to have a 2nd option, the AP200 is clearly farther along as they have already demonstrated this functionality.
As discussed above, I am monitoring the situation and will post here when they release the firmware publicly.

FYI the AP200 is on sale at Princess Auto for $80CAD. Not as good as $70, but ai might just buy it and keep it in the box for a month or so in case AP releases the update. No brainer with the PA return policy.

@MrFixit did you ask them for update?

When they provided me with the beta code (which I tested for them in November), they told me they were combining this with many other unrelated fixes and expected to release the next version in 1Q21. I am monitoring to see if a new release comes out, and if I don't see one by the end of 1Q (end of March), I will begin to bug them. I had established a good rapport with one of their engineers and I do not want to annoy them with multiple inquiries.

oh, I missed this - you had working unit? Did you switch back to prod code or still running the dev?

I am still running the beta code (checked my capacity just yesterday):)

Before you get any ideas... The code was pushed to my device.
I tried (unsuccessfully) to identify where it resides, and whether it was possible to distribute it to someone else.

Now, if anyone happens to be in the Maryland area, I would be happy to read their battery capacity !

no rush here. I will buy one from PA and patiently wait it out.

just curious - does it only show the battery capacity or you can get more like individual cell status?

Also, how did the capacity change over time - I looked at your PDFs and it showed 49ish - how old is your car and what is the mileage? This is about 90% capacity

I published the PDF's early in the thread which demonstrate the entirety of the data that I found to be available.
From what I understand, there is a lot of information down to the cell level, but I did not see anything implying individual cell capacities.

I purchased my vehicle in November 2018 and I got an initial reading from the dealer of 55.1 aH at that time.

My next reading opportunity did not come until working this out with Autel, so all I have so far is this:

    upload_2021-1-31_14-17-23.png

My driving profile is roughly 75% EV operation.

With such limited data, I do not know if there is a seasonal element to this measurement. I plan to do this regularly now, and when others can get up to speed with this, we can collectively learn a lot about battery performance.

Cool. If the loss is roughly linear, it appears that thus far you lost about 3am per 7500 EV miles.

I am more or less at the same amount of EV miles, but less ICE. Can’t wait to check

@MrFixit , my car will be an interesting comparison. I bought a 2018 in July of 2018. I have almost 20k on it with 70% EV.

  21. At that rate, we’ll all be getting new batteries, under warranty after 50K EV miles.

I don't think anyone expects battery degradation to be 'linear'.
Be careful - In my opinion, it is just not possible to infer any kind of a trend from my data with the 2 year gap right from the start.

There is some data for Tesla batteries, but obviously it’s easier to interpret as there it’s 100% EV.

We will have to get organized with the data entry form once we star collection.

btw, the princess auto promo goes til the end of the month
