OK, maybe my ocd tendencies are at play here, but has anyone thought that the 'random' function when playing music via USB isn't all that random? I've confirmed that all the files (around 400) on my USB drive are playable in the CLarity--non randomly--but when I select Random, it just seems that some tracks NEVER get played. Am I imagining it?
And that is the exact definition of 'random'. Once a song has finished, the system randomly picks another song to play. Could be the same song you just heard, could be one you didn't remember being on the drive. The Honda random does not have a 'no repeat' feature. The only way to make certain you hear everything that's on the drive is to just let it play in order without the random feature selected.
I had the same experience, it seems to "stick" with some tracks that appear once and again, yet others are never seen, even within a folder with less than 100 songes. Eventually I gave up the random function.
