I leased a brand new Q4etron a few months ago (2023 model yr). Took it in last week to service a couple of recalls. They also did a complimentary multi-point inspection, where they noted the rear brake pads are already at 5 out of 12 (the front are still 12/12). The service advisor said something to the effect of "this is common with the rear brakes, they have to be replaced often since the car is so heavy". What??!! The car only has 1500 miles on it, and we ALWAYS drive in B mode for the regen braking. Before I get the service manager involved, I'd like to hear from other etron owners as to if this is normal or not. At this rate I'll need to get the brakes done every 3K miles which makes no sense at all.

This Audi forum doesn't get much Q4 e-tron traffic, so you would be likely to get a quicker answer from one of the dedicated Q4 e-tron forums:

To me, it would seem that regen braking should work to preserve the rear brake pads of a Q4 e-tron, be it rear-wheel drive or Quattro.
