I purchased a base 2019 Clarity in grey about 10 days ago for $25,949 + $200 dealer installed accessories (trunk rubber mat, wheel locks and mud guards) + TTL in San Diego.
Thank you to this forum and Slickdeals for bringing this car to my attention and giving me an idea of what price we could get with some work.
    So far love the car!

I used CarsDirect price quote to negotiate with a dealer. CarsDirect just lowered the incentive to $5k off MSRP... so negotiations may get a little trickier.

Did you buy it in Savannah? I thought there was only one 2018 left in Georgia.

I just saw an internet price for a 2019 Touring at Honda village just outside of Boston of $31.2. Not sure what the otd price is since I already have my 2018 Touring but that seems like a pretty fair price right now.

First post: Looking to purchase a Clarity touring in August somewhere in southern Cal or AZ when I return from deployment, any suggested dealers that have given good prices? I have been enjoying the last few pages of the forum. Thanks

I’m looking to get a 2019 base Clarity. Moss Honda in Moreno Valley gave me pricing at $26,101 which includes $7,700 in dealer incentives. I was staggered by that offer. I live in California so on top of this I’d be eligible for the $7500 fed tax credit and possibly $1500 in state tax credit (if they continue to fund the program). I have a trade in that could be worth $7500. Factor in fuel savings and with the above incentives the car is dang near free.
Including tax and fees on top of the $26,101 would $28k be reasonable to ask for OTD? Also does anyone think that factory/dealer incentives would continue for the 2020 Clarity since it likely won’t be changed much and could still be a rough sales environment?

Just wanted to double check your pricing. Was $26,149 out the door or are u saying + TTL on top of that for around $29,000 out the door. Also did u have to negotiate the $200 dealer accessories? All of the dealerships in the IE so far have dealer accessory packages of around $4k for gps security and other protection products I don’t want. Did u have any issues with that?

This sounds like a good deal. So the dealer is passing the $6,000 incentive plus $1700 off their profit ?
Your offer for $28K OTD is reasonable with TTL.
Finance/buy incentives have never been better IMO.
Yes, if you finance or buy, you qualify for the $7500 tax incentive.

When I got my 2018 base, the deals for purchase was not that good as it is now ($1000 incentive for 2018MY). However, I got $10,800 off MSRP but that's because Honda was passing the $7500 tax credit back to leases for immediate cap cost reduction, thus I got my lease for $285 / month plus monthly 9.5% tax.
Luckily, I got the $1500 CVRP rebate within 6 weeks and $1000 utility company rebate in 4 weeks... So all in all, I got a great deal....

$26,149 included dealer add ons but before TTL. With TTL, I paid $28,690 out of the door.
They wanted $420 for their add ons. I negotiated down to $200 which I thought was reasonable for what I got in return, (trunk rubber mat, wheel locks and mud guards.) Honestly, I didn’t want any of them but since the car had them, and I got what I thought was a good deal, I agreed to take it.

I emailed many dealers. The ones that replied with decent quotes were Hardin Honda and Poway Honda. I took their quotes to DCH Honda of Mission Valley (and others) and asked them if they can beat it. After a lot of back and fourth we came to the agreed price. They were very good to work with. I even spoke with their manager, Tony, to finalize the deal.
At the end, they said that they gave me the Costco price, so it’s worth asking for their Costco price right away.
    Good luck!

Has anyone from outside of California been able to get a decent price at one of the California dealerships and have the car shipped to them or fly in and pick it up? They're so much cheaper there that it's well worth it, but I can't find a dealership that's willing to do it.

Most dealers don't like out of state sales but there are some that will do it, might take contacting a lot of dealers to find one.

Keep in mind that if you take delivery in California you will pay California sales tax even if you live out of state and they will not refund it to your state. You would need to find out if your state will not charge you sales tax if you already paid it in California. If California charges higher sales tax than your state then you have to consider that an additional expense to factor in along with travel expenses. If you have the car shipped to you my understanding is that you don't have to pay California sales tax since you take delivery in your home state, but you would need to verify that.

Just purchased 2019 base clarity from Diamond Valley Honda in Hemet, CA. $29882.34 OTD. Cash price was $26,601 + Dealer Accessory of $395 for total cash price of $26,996. The accessory kit was shown as $995 and includes the wheel locks, mud flaps, trunk floor protector and some door chip protection and they dropped it to the $395 above. Worked with Joe. Quick and painless. Was not happy with Riverside and Moss...they added $4,000 in dealer accessories that they said couldn’t be removed. Talked to Alex in San Diego but they are out of Claritys but are expecting 5 in August.
