Moving to a new home. To charge outdoors, would an external 240V, 30 amp receptacle work well, or is an outside charging station preferable? I wish to minimize costs and have a safe solution. Rain is very frequent where I live With a Clarity, charge times are short- but eventually may get full EV. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
I would suggest that you get an EVSE that is waterproof, (most are) and hard wire it and mount on your house near the driveway. This way you don't have a cord plugging to an outlet which could be problematic in a rainy climate. Just make sure you have enough cable on the J-1772 connector to reach any future EV you come across.
