Giving this a thread a bump for newbies, and also still have the extra light available, price is OBO. Hit me up :)

Also as a small update... zero issues since install.

Truly a cool mod. Very tempted… I’ll let you know.

At this point (2 years), I've gotten used to plugging in by feel. Definitely an oversight on MINI's part, so this mod is super cool. Been meaning to replace the cargo area lights since they become blisteringly hot with just 10 minutes of use.

Those wedge bulbs — boot and glove box — take 12 seconds to replace with LEDs.

ETA: the throw from the single-ended (and thus somewhat directional) Philips XtremeVision 360 T10 194s isn’t at all annoying, FWIW. The coverage in the boot is just fine for my needs.

You are a brave man dude.
No way would I dick with the electronics on a car under warranty!
You have awesome skills, I would have broken something for sure.

I'd like to report that a stick on mirror on the inside of the door flap does absolutely nothing helpful. Don't bother asking how I know, haha.

Any tricks to separating the trim ring from the charge port? I tried this afternoon and nothing felt like it was releasing. I was half-tempted to just grab hold of the entire port door and just pull.

Hey sorry I completely missed my post alert!

It really just takes a little patience and finesse with a thin pry tool. Little pry and pull action usually separates it pretty easily, but the first time is always going to be the hardest. Start in one section and just start working your way around, there is like 4 or 5 tabs that hold it in place.
