You added a lot more than just my numbers.
What do you figure the depreciation on a base model is?
You are trying to do some numbers magic with the rebate. The fact is the base model car will cost $34K, how you finance it is up to you. The 5K a year depreciation....I am talking about, that is off of the $34K, not the full $47K of the car.
If the credits go away the new car won't be worth $47K, I don't see the market bearing that, prices will drop dramatically between now and 2020/21 25% drop does look realistic, there is even a Corolla due out in 2020 and that is not a 40K base price market.

Who knows.....family cars are not a good financial investment, period.

Since you are talking about equity, I presume you are talking buying the car instead of leasing. My 5 year finance with a $5k trade in, $14k rebate + $700 discount and add $1500 extended warrantee comes to over $500/month, this is for the base model. If I do take the Touring, my monthly payment goes up to $620 per month

Yes, I received a reply from my dealer that I either get my deposit back or pay extra $4k + tax with $300 discount for a Touring model.

Ever think they might be scaring people off of the base model even if one is available and into a touring so someone else in the chain that is standing firm gets their base model?

Another base model (which showed up on Autotrader) in Kelowna BC is VIN 753.
Supply is looking more positive with 200+ cars having arrived this month!

Let's see if it was worth the wait ;)

Did they tell you that the order might not come through when ordered?

I'm in the same boat April 5th order, cancelled by dealer, and no they assured us they would be able to get a base model within 6 months.

No they did not tell me that there was a chance the order may not come through. I was told ~8 weeks, and then that turned into "we don't know" which then turned into "I told you it could take 6 months to get the vehicle" so the story changed quite a bit.

Did you get your car? Are you interested in getting this started? My February order has been cancelled. I think small claims court is an option, but could be more powerful with more people.

For Ontario buyers, with the Sept 10th cutoff approaching, I'm hearing good news from a few buyers. I hope Honda Canada and your dealer deliver!

Also, this poll is pretty conclusive that most dealers had no idea when cars would arrive until they actually arrived off the cargo ship from Japan in BC.

Just to let people know. I submitted using the March form late July, although I got my vehicle after the initial cutoff. I spoke with Ministry of Finance and they told me I need to resubmit with the proper form. So anyone that used the old form, go back to the EHVIP site http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/vehicles/electric/electric-vehicle-incentive-program.shtml and get the new form and resubmit. Would not want anyone waiting for a rebate to not get it due to the fact they used the old form.

Did you have a hard time finding the March form back in July ? I searched for awhile and finally found it but I’m unsure if that was the incorrect form I sent. This was right when the announcement of the EV rebate cancellation were on the MTO websites and no links to the form were present on the sites. Thanks for warning us! I’m going to send another application ASAP

Call me crazy, but isn't this new version of the form exactly like the old version of form, except that the instructional first page is different (including the date)? It looks like all of the text fields/boxes are the exact same, so they're not even asking for new/different information.

I actually got notice that my vehicle was coming prior to the July 11th date. So I had already downloaded the March form to get ready for the car and be able to fill it out the day I got my car. So that's pretty much what I did.

I didn't go line for line, but it pretty much is exactly like the old one, at least in terms of questions. I think they make you use the new one as you have to sign and the verbage is different. I don't really care much what it says, just give me my rebate.

Because I (evidently) have nothing better to do with my time, I've gone over both versions line-by-line - I think literally the only difference is that the old form is dated March 2018 and the new one is dated July 2018. In any event, since there's still time before the September deadline and I'd hate to lose the rebate due to bureaucratic technicality, I've resubmitted my application with the 'new' form.
