With the dealer advice, I order mine in mid December (touring) and the dealer mentioned 3 months wait at that time. The dealer said at that time they were limited to 1 order per month (at least in the Province of Quebec). Car arrived early March. Seems by now the wait time is longer...

I do not understand , why Honda manufacturer's cars for USA where there is no/little demand and In Canada , where there is so much demand wait time is increasing?

I don't think anyone anticipated that. You would think Honda would have self-corrected by now and start making more versions of the car where there is most demand.

2 reasons Honda hasn’t corrected, and isn’t correcting. At least not for this year.

#1 US and Canadian versions are not interchangeable. The factory producing the US version is set up to produce just that. Changing the process to build the Canadian version is likely to take weeks. And the changeover would decrease production. Decrease production equals a decrease in sales. That is bad for Honda

    Now for the big #2
Honda doesn’t care about the vehicles sitting on the dealers lots. Those are sold in the eyes of the manufacturer. They are the problem of the dealership (which is a separate entity from Honda itself). Eventually dealerships will unload them for a discount in the US. Everything sells at the right price. Maybe the manufacturer takes pity eventually and offers an incentive to the dealerships to help lower the price.

That is the dilemma all dealerships signed up for. They have to accept their allotment and have to find a way to sell them.

I believe all Honda Clarity PHEV models for the entire Global market are manufactured in the Honda Saitama factory in the Sayama prefecture, Japan.

FCV models are manufactured in Tochigi, Japan.

I agree with you on the location. That isn’t what I meant. I meant there are some difference in parts. And in an assembly line you need to have the correct part ready when you finished installing the last.

If the parts were all the same US version would be certified for Canada... and it is not.

My understanding is that one factory manufactures vehicles for global consumption on the same line. Similar to building vehicles with different trims, colours and power trains they can be built to spec without having to retool the factory “for weeks”.

Maybe they build Canadian models on Wednesday’s and for other countries on other days of the week. Lol.

I went to Honda dealer yesterday and he told me following thing. 1) USA is bigger market where they care more , so they will prioritize that v/s Canada.... 2) The battery is a big concern and the demand is much higher than supply , so it takes more time in general 3) Honda is more interested in Touring order v/s regular model 4) I heard now White color will take now priority bases on their build. Friend of mine got white Clarity today, He ordered it on Feb 4

I just ordered mine today and was told that it would be quicker for Touring and Grey. Slower for the base model and colour white. So i did the touring with grey and he said 3-6 weeks for mine to arrive. Perfect timing for summer.

Which location did your friend order? GTA or other?

Was it a base model or touring.

Just cast my vote "dealer has no clue" :)

Carguru search shows most of the available clarity's on quebec and none in GTA.

Looks like Honda have started focusing on Canada......No reason not to divert focus where there is Firm Order. Honda knows that if they wait too long :
    1) People might cancel orders.
    2) If Ontario Rebate is notably reduced or cancelled , right after election, most people will cancel orders due to added cost ( 51K for touring and 46K for Base model)

Very interesting thing I found. My friend who ordered the Car on 6 Feb and got the delivery on 8April. When he got the Car , the ON rebate was reduced from 14K to 13K. I was hoping that the rebate Value is always Function of WHEN you got the delivery & DATE of application of rebate. He interestingly told me that he will most likely get rebate of 14K not 13K because he booked before 8March. He did not yet got his rebate chaque yet , but we will wait and see. He indicated that when he applied there was a question " what is the booking date".......
Did any one checked that what will be our situation AFTER 8th March Revision? Is there any change in language ? will they consider order date or Delivery date for rebate Value?...... Is it fair to assume we will get 13K rebate from ON ?
