Newbie MINI app question

    It was both at first, that’s probably why you’re confused. None of the remote functions, nor the charging and climate timer, worked for me at first (took delivery Dec 20th). Apparently around Christmas Eve, the remote buttons started working again, but the climate and charging timer is still unavailable.

    Ya know… I had assumed that since our cars have cellular data, that the car software updates would go out to everyone automatically. Guess not though because if that was the case, everyone would have the same problem. Will I need to go back to the dealer at some point to get the latest car software updates?

    I've wondered that too. I know there's an update option in the menus, but it seems to want something on USB.

    But on the other hand, I got an OTA maps update this week, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Hello all. My wife picked up her SE 1/9 and she is also unable to schedule charge and climate through the app. Hope this gets resolved soon.

    Congrats to you and your wife on getting your SE! Please post photos, tell us how you chose to buy an SE, and what name, if any, you picked for your electric delight.

    The dealer called yesterday to say they’d updated the software in the car so I should delete the app and reinstall it and then try to access the charge & climate timer. Unfortunately, it made no difference as I’d kind of expected. They reported back to Mini corporate that it hadn’t resolved the problem and they expect to hear back from them on Monday. I still have the loaner SE so while I’d prefer to have my own SE here, it’s not a problem letting them keep it for another couple of days.

    Thank you! Attached are pics of Kermit. Today's project was adding the stripes. Tomorrow I start polishing and ceramic coating. My wife wanted an EV, but didn't need a lot of car. First time experiencing the brand for either of us and must say it's an absolute joy. The fit and finish are excellent. Wife commutes 50 miles daily and it's perfect. I purchased a Tesla Model 3 Performance about a month ago so we are officially all electric and it's so good! Noticed there's quite a bit of new BRGs posted lately. But must say all the Mini colors are fun and any color combo looks fantastic. Cheers :)

    Thank you so much for this synopsis post, @David Baker, including going to the trouble of tallying up the names of all the affected new owners!

    FWIW, my 2022 SE (which was delivered 12/20, BTW) comes up as a 2021 S after entering my VIN on that non-U.S. Compatibility Check page. :rolleyes:

    For those who have responded to say that they’ve raised a ticket with tech support or their dealer, has there been any response from them? When I was talking to my dealer they were asking what other people with the same issue were hearing from their own dealers (or from Mini tech support if you’ve not gone the dealer route).

    My own car is still with the dealer. I got an automated message this afternoon saying the car had been removed from my Mini Connected account, so I assume they’ve restored the car software to factory settings or something to start afresh or so they can try connecting via an app themselves so they can check it without having to contact me each time they want to try it.

    I opened a ticket but have not contacted the dealer. No word from mini.

    Ticket placed with Mini Assist ~12/19, I've called 3 times following up but nothing comes of it. Each call I'm told all tickets are resolved in 10 business days and that I'd hear from them either way via e-mail; I haven't received any e-mails. Dealer reached out today suggesting I report the issue to Mini via app feedback which I already do several times a day.

  17. A new version of the MINI.app with some bug fixes has been released. The new version is 1.7.3
    No details of what bugs have been fixed.

    Downloading now.

    I have a german MINI that arrived late Dec2021 and I got it 4/1/22.
    have the same problem and reported it to the connected hotline.
    First result was that I was not able to precondition in the App, which worked before.
    After 2 days of not working, it does now, but still no charge/precondition timer.

    Someone from a german forum wrote that it works with software
    Telefon: TT-002.162.001
    Media: MT-002.162.001

    I have 002-160.003 which is supposedly older. I will contact my dealer for an update later today

    I picked up my car earlier this morning. So nice to be back in my own car. The dealer confirmed that it’s been raised to BMW who have confirmed that they’re aware of the issue and they’re currently working on a fix. They will update the dealer when that fix is rolled out and they will in turn advise any customers who have reported it. They say it’ll either be a matter of deleting and reinstalling the app, or getting the car plugged into the dealer for the update, they can’t be any more specific than that on what the fix will end up being or when it might be available.
    Version 1.7.3 of the app is out as @FrankinCarp says above, but it doesn’t fix this particular issue.

    Update is scheduled for Friday. I will post here when (if) the problem is fixed.

    My software is TT-002.162.001 and I still have this issue.
