Still the same issue here; remote services working but no access to the charge & climate timer. Dealer said today that they’d escalated the problem to Mini. Finally! I thought they’d done that last week! I will cut them some slack as it was the Christmas and new year holidays but still, it only needed a phone call or an email from one person. The dealer told me that others are facing the issue and that it’s not just me which I know because I’ve told them that every time I’ve spoken to them. Mini Connected helpline persists with the “update services in the car and wait 24 hours" line which has now been used so many times I can only surmise that it’s so that when you call back in 24 hours someone else can deal with it. My patience is growing a little thin right now.

  3. I'm in the US and am in the same boat: Remote services work, but no access to the charge & climate timer. I've updated Mini services info in the car and deleted -> re-installed the Mini Connected app pretty much daily over the past week-and-a-half.

  4. I’m in the same boat as well, haven’t called MINI yet but I’ll to emphasize that it seems to be widespread issue with recent deliveries.

I called MINI Assist last week following up on the IT ticket they started ~12/20 and they didn't have any solutions or new troubleshooting ideas to offer. My MA asked the Service Dept. to take over about a week ago, I haven't heard from them either. I'm allowing wiggle room given the holidays, but it's getting old that it hasn't been sorted out yet.

My wife's last ICE car, before her first Tesla (the one I wrecked before her current one), was a Jag F-Pace SUV. It arrived with a buggy infotainment system: the radios and phone would not stay connected, needed reset frequently, etc. We went back and forth with the dealer and Jaguar, lots of promises, lots of "try resetting it," etc. Sound familiar?

I spent one hour tweeting on the corporate site, as well as to the CEO, President, North American VP, PR managers, etc., including them all in the @s and #s. I was factual and disappointed. Within a day, the dealer principal of Austin Jaguar called me to talk. He had me a loaner dropped off on a flatbed, which then took my wife's car back. A month later, hers was returned, finally fixed, and our first three loan payments, about $3K, were refunded, by check.

In the app, is there a way to see the last trip or a history of trips with distance travelled and efficiency? That was available on the I3.

MINI took that away when they switched to this new version. I complained.

  10. There is a Mini.app video tutorial available here.

That’s not available on the BMW app either unfortunately. They must have done away with it at the same time as they removed it from the Mini app. The BMW app is 99% the same as the Mini one, only the colours are different and the graphic showing current SOC. Mini has a circular gauge to the left of the car graphic, the i3 has a linear gauge below the car graphic.

My dealer emailed me today saying that they’ve had no response from Mini but they want me to book the car in with their workshop so they can look at it. Hopefully I’ll get it in there one day next week and fingers crossed it’ll be a simple fix for them.

This thread made me a little paranoid - so I checked just now - I was able to access and use the Charge and Climate timer stuff. Weird that only recent models would have this problem.

Yes it only seems to be affecting some people who picked their cars up in mid to late December. Possibly a pre-delivery dealer software update or something has messed something up.

Having a MINI Cooper SE and an app problem is certainly better than to be still waiting for your SE. Using the app is nowhere near as much fun as driving. Congrats on your new SE and double congrats for wrangling it into your possession before the end of 2021!

Couldn't agree more! I'm REALLY enjoying driving my new SE. This silly issue isn't that big of a deal, I just want to make it know to the app developers who might be seeing these posts that it is not a single user issue. I also submitted app feedback and I encourage others to do the same. It is the last icon on the bottom right-hand corner, under "Send app feedback".

Yeah, I’m one of those new owners who took delivery recently (Dec. 20) and, in my case, have never been able to use the Charge & Climate Timer functionality since doing so. Thanks for pointing out the “Send app feedback” prompt in the app — I just added my feedback to the chorus of fellow new MINI owners’ voices! :D

I hope you, and all new owners get this function asap. Crazy that it's only for newer owners.

I assume nobody has a fix for this yet? Got mine on Dec 20th and experiencing the same issue as everyone else.

New car owner. Also having no luck with the climate and charge error on App. Very frustrating

Thanks for all the trouble shooting help.

Still no fix. Dealer wants me to book the car in for them to take a look but I’m a little reluctant as a dealer is unlikely to be able to fix software issues unless Mini issue a new revision which fixes the problem and as I understand it at the moment, Mini corporate have not fully acknowledged that there is a problem. Even yesterday I got an email with the photo pasted below from my dealer asking me if I’d tried going into the charge & climate timer in the car and ticking the box for precondition for departure as they’d been told by someone at Mini that that box needed to be ticked before the app would work. Absolute nonsense. As you’ll all know, all that checkbox does is allow preconditioning for a set departure time and replicates what you should be able to do from the app. It is not a checkbox to allow it to be accessed remotely which is what the person from Mini told my dealer to pass on to me.
