I'll add this to the thread, but I can't verify the source of this info. March seems so far away, but I hope it means they're adding the Apple Maps EV range support.

I assume the new version that The EV Puzzle demonstrated in this video is what is coming to the US market.

The new app is available in the US for iPhone (not sure about Android). Just got it, it logs in with the same credentials. I really like the new look, and it has a great mapping feature for finding charging locations. I have not yet tested to see if it integrates range info with Apple Maps.

Great! I look forward to hearing whether it integrates into Apple Maps.

Not showing up yet for Android. On my tablet though the updated Mini connected app now no longer shows E-info.

I wonder what "All Good" means and how specific the message is when all is not good? I see the app doesn't display the name of the model, so I won't be irritated by seeing "Cooper se" anymore. More wondering: Will the photo show the correct model year of the owner's car when the 2022s are delivered?

+ nicer look, refreshes on demand, heeded the advice of @insightman to call it "Cooper SE"
    - no Apple Car Key?, efficiency data removed, lol

The efficiency data missing is what is keeping many UK owners on the old app, or using both apps. (from reading another forum)

    Wait, what?!

How else do I track my MINI's performance over time? Instead of removing it, they should have added historical log with an export. I've been taking screenshots of every drive so I have accumulated data. The car knows that info, why isn't it available in some useful data dump?

Ugh. Just today, the Android app updated to a newer version, but it is the same "format" as it has been, i.e. no new app for us Android owners, yet. I'm still waiting for Android Auto, too.

Unless I'm missing something, but I just double checked.. The legacy auto companies just aren't taking software very seriously. VW seems to have acknowledged that fact at least. Not that I care too much with a car like the SE.

No Apple Maps integration yet. Can't say I'm surprised, but I am disappointed. Apparently not a single EV manufacturer has implemented the feature yet.

The status will specify anything that isn't "All Good". This correlates to any items the "old" app highlights in orange.

If you scroll further down on that screen, you will see the model name with the correct capitalization.

I expect the photos to remain correct, since the app knows my ordered color scheme and wheels from the VIN--so it should also know which model year and body style to show.

Horn honk is missing in the new app as well. I've never used it, so I didn't notice. Weird little thing to leave out.

I like that feature. Used it to scare the crap out of my kid once. Also used it to find the car in a huge parking lot.

The article below goes into a little more on why the app was built from scratch. But I do hope they will add the efficiency stats from the old app into the new one at some point.
    • Alexa integration will be available back through 2019 models
    • The app supports IOS and Android platforms on a single code base
    • Many of the app's background services run on Amazon cloud servers
    • "The app’s functionality can be expanded or potential error sources eliminated without the customer having to download a new version of the app after the modifications have been carried out"

Well that's disappointing. "Single code base" means compromises, coding to the least-common denominator. I guess we're unlikely to ever see Apple Maps EV integration.

So I installed this the other day. I hope this is the base that they will be updating. It looks nice, and seems stable, however as some have pointed out, we loose the efficiency and last trip details. Secondly, it doesn't seem to track/know about charging session. This was the real reason for updating for me. The app still hasn't detected that I have charged, even though it says it is up to date.

The second problem may not be the apps fault, but the most useful thing is it tells you at the top what the current battery and range estimate is. Now the battery percent is accurate (I would be very worried if they couldn't get even that right), but the range is even worse than usual. I had a quiet week, so was at 55% still left with only 117km done this week. I charged to 100% as I usually do and got - wait for it - 144km range predicted. This is quite possibly the worst prediction I have ever seen. Now 117km from 45% of the battery give a total range of 260km. Even multiplying by the EPAs dodgy 0.7 fudge factor gives 182 km for a full charge. To indicate 144km (89 miles) is out by over 40%. It is getting worse, not better. At this level of incorrectness, you might as well remove the feature completely rather than indicate such a totally wrong value. I am hoping that they have incorrectly got miles switched with km as 144 miles would be a bit low, but still in the realms of possibility.

So, unless you really dislike the old app's gui, the new one really isn't worth updating to in my opinion.

Anyone else having trouble reaching the car on either app lately? Pushing lock/unlock climate works, but it’s not updating charge %.
