Thank you! I had noticed the trend... that doesn't always happen, altho it usually does... but didn't understand the cause. Keep going Tesla!
My speculation is the SEC muzzles what the company can share and more strictly the closer to the quarterly. There seems to be some grace between the production/sales and the formal presentation. Other than some clarifications, the company goes mute. In contrast, the SHORTs grab the bullhorn and shout every kind of nonsense they can. I think it only affects the ‘day traders’ (stock market bait fish.) Regardless, I doubt any serious trader is reading our musings. So I am content to wait. I may rebalance again the day before the quarterly numbers come out. Moving some TSLA back to KL. Bob Wilson
is it really happening? Is the law of the country finally working to rope in one of the biggest fraudsters committing repeated open frauds? I'm rubbing my eyes, making sure I'm awake. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/sec-asks-u-judge-hold-004828160.html Tesla's Musk risks contempt charge as SEC argues tweets violate deal
I've modified my buy option to increase my holdings. The irony is @TeslaInvestors is likely to be buying too although we have different goals and objectives. Bob Wilson
Yup. I predicted this would happen. And I'm certainly not happy about being right in this case. As many people including myself have said, Tesla needs to appoint someone to filter Elon's tweets before they are sent out. He can't be allowed to post directly to Twitter; he's proven that he is not capable of acting as his own censor. Whether or not Elon and/or Tesla get wrist-slapped again over this latest tweet, it seems inevitable to me that this same controversy will reoccur until either Tesla does exactly that, or until Elon stops tweeting altogether. I certainly hope that Elon won't delete his twitter account, altho based on the history of such things, that looks like the most likely outcome. Elon's Twitter presence and following certainly are one of the major sources of free marketing for Tesla. But free advertising from social media has always been a two-edged sword, and the back side of that blade has wounded Tesla's public image more than once. (Is there some sort of award for over-use of a metaphor? If so, I think I've got a contender...)
Yep, I know the exact right fit who just came out of fedderal penetenciary! His name is something something Skilling. Elon will like him a lot. It will just be like working with his own dad. What is better than one fraud? It will be a 100% PASS rate filter, and the filter may even add its own distortions So, Elon lies "500K cars", it becomes "5000K cars". Lol. More fun. Can't delete twitter account. Paid a whole bunch to reputation.com to buy all those bot followers. And it will be much harder to send out fraudulent tweet sand flase advertizing and sales claims on other media. Twitter OTOH is a scanfest and Elon knows it all too well.
Here was your opportunity to actually say something both meaningful and relevant about a negative issue regarding Tesla... and instead, you chose to show us just how much you enjoy trolling. Some people are nothing but a waste of oxygen.
I posted some news to Domenick's "The madness of Musk and double-edged Twitter" thread. Because, you know, not all discussion of Tesla news should be restricted to one thread created by this forum's sole remaining serial Tesla basher as a place for his endless stream of FUD.
Tesla could just setup their own forum package and walk away from Twitter. The advantage is 'sensitive' accounts could tag a 24x7 moderator team. Membership, free (or at least reasonable.) Bob Wilson
Thank you Elon Tusk for a mini pop today. Shorted a little more on the pop. Better than shorting below $300. Now bring us the bad news/disappointment tomorrow.
This is the catch all news channel for Tesla. The only news channel people ever need to follow to learn all about Tesla and its fantastic man child CEO Elon Tusk. Feel free to post your positive news tidbits too. I welcome that. OK, ok. Here is some news too. Remember the Tesla Model X that burtn to crisp on a frozen lake? All the fanboys were speculating insurance fraud, murder mystersy etc. Well, they missed the most obvious reason for yet another Tesla fire. They are known to spontaneously burst into flames! In this case, aided by a rock. https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/hybrid-electric/a26558547/tesla-burnt-vermont-lake/ No word yet on what happens to its charred remains. I hope. Tesla puts it in its Tesla museum as a reminder to not taek your Tesla for fishign trips.
I don't see how that would help at all. The problem is Elon's lack of ability to filter his own remarks, not the platform that he uses for making social media comments. I don't think the SEC is going to care about the difference between Twitter and a semi-private forum set up by Tesla, Actually, come to think of it, if the SEC regarded a forum as "private" that potentially would be even worse; that might open Elon up to charges of insider trading, if the forum was regarded as not accessible by the public. But I am neither a lawyer nor a "financial guy", so perhaps the SEC will see things rather differently than I do.
Actually, no. You definitely obsess over such trivia much more than actual Tesla fans do. Thank you for again reminding us that Tesla car fires in which nobody was hurt are so rare that each individual one still qualifies as news! Too bad car fires in gasmobiles are so common they are just statistics, never reported as news unless there is something highly unusual about the car or the fire. So do keep reminding us, "TeslaInvestors", how very safe Tesla cars are... even if it's unintentional on your part. Keep going Tesla!
No... this is the thread you created for your serial Tesla bashing posts. The "catch all" discussion thread for Tesla news is here: Tesla in the News
There is a process question, having someone 'edit' Elon's communications. Twitter apparently has no automation tools to allow that to happen. As for the content of his postings, the irony is the photo of the Teslas loading onto a cargo ship was important to me. That his text about '500,000' or corrected to '400,000' seems trivial to me. But we've talked about how SHORTs have no such limits. About 4:42 into this YouTube, the presenter identifies SHORTers putting pressure to have excess SEC scrutiny to pester the company as part of their strategy: At 5:27 he holds up a book by David Einhorn "Fooling Some of the People All of the Time". I've not read the book but the presenter claims enlisting the SEC to go after an Einhorn short targeted company is part of Einhorn's strategy. Regardless, the judge will ultimately make the call. Bob Wilson
I wouldn't expect Twitter to have any such. Why would it? That's a problem external to Twitter. Seems pretty easy to set up, to me. Elon sends whatever he wants to go to twitter either by text to the poor saps fearless employees appointed as his censors, or more likely into some sort of e-mail queue where it will stay until one of the people appointed to monitor his tweets checks it out and either sends it on to the twitter account, or deems it unworthy and deletes it. Of course, Elon would have to give them access to his twitter account, but that's trivial... at least, trivial for setting it up, but perhaps not so trivial for Elon being willing to put others in control!
