We should create 2 stickies thread, 1 for EV range and the other 1000 miles club.

The HV range is accurate based on history. If you keep driving the way you were, your miles driven until you have to fill the tank will be about that much. Its failure is that should you deviate from how you were driving (short trips mostly electric and suddenly take a highway trip) it is inaccurate and doesn't correct quickly enough. They need to base that off your gas mileage on gas only (not including electric/gas combined mileage like they currently do).

The same is true for EV range, if you keep driving how you were the range will be very accurate. However, heater usage or a change in driving patterns will dramatically effect it. Like high speed on the highway when you had only been driving around town.

Do you mean ECON Mode? I wish there was an EV Mode or some easy way to tell the Clarity "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get the engine started. Please forgive me and turn it off."

Fiddling with the HV Mode button appears to shut off the engine sometimes, but not always. And if the driver gets pushy and starts the engine even once, the car seems more willing to restart the engine later. I can stop and cycle the Power button to get the car to respect my EV-only priority, but can't find any other way to do it.

Yes, sorry, have those two linked in my head. ECON tries to run in EV mode unless you push past the detent (click point) on the go pedal. It is mostly EV only, which is why I accidentally call it EV mode all the time. Normal, Sport will start the engine easier, and before you reach the detent.

This is the first explanation that gives some indication of what Honda engineers might have been thinking. HV "range" is really how many miles the car thinks it can drive before adding gas (based on your history and adding energy to the car by recharging). So in theory, the HV range could be a very high number (thousands of miles) if you run on EV almost all of the time. Of course, this is not what we consider "range". We think of range as how far we can travel based on the energy stored in the car (battery and gas). Everything is so configurable on this car - it would be nice if you could configure what number displays as "range" on lower right of main dashboard. I usually use the music icon in the center display instead of the range icon, so I would prefer EV range on main display, and then for long trips not worry about calculated range and just fill up when the gas gauge shows near empty.

I was playing with the centre display icons yesterday. Turns out you can "drag" the icons from one screen to another (one at a time). You hold the icon until it flashes/lights up. Then you drag it to the next screen (forward or backward) and drop it. It will drop into one of the 6 spots and you can move it into another slot on the same screen (wherever you prefer it).

I was finding I didn't want anything but the navigation icon and the info icon on my "main" screen. So I moved the other icons onto the previous screen, as I don't access them very often.
