  1. Hi! I am new to this site and am hoping to get some answers to how to charge my Mach-E over the winter for 6 months without killing the battery. I am in upstate NY and may leave my EV parked in an unheated garage over the winter. From what I have gathered, I should leave the EV parked with the charging cable on (I have a 220 volt charger) and attach a battery tender to the 12 volt battery. I am a bit hesitant to leave the car plugged in for 6 months in the garage with all the problems that Hyundai and Chevy Bolt drivers are having with batteries catching fire. Any suggestions would help! By the way, I absolutely love my Mach-E and besides wondering about how to park it this winter, I am also hesitant to try to take it on a long trip, say to Florida, without knowing exactly how available the fast chargers are on the route.
