I've heard the Project 45 concept mentioned in reference to the IONIQ 5 but here in the states we don't even get a solar option and the Project 45 isn't ever used as a reference. Thanks for the details of what was included and I love your humor about the sun possibly making a final appearance this year.

I hope the solar keeps the car powered while off and saves you from having to replace the 12VDC Lead Acid standby battery that isn't often mentioned in regards to EV's. She has to be awake enough to take preconditioning commands and start up to engage your main battery pack to start the drive and the 12VDC is the unit that does it. It's voltage lives the life of a roller coaster between drives of fully charged to fairly depeated that shorten their lives. The Solor Panel will hopefully keep the fairly depeated part a thing of the past making it a five or six year interval replacment like most ICE lead acid batteries are.

I've seen a press car with a white back drop and the windows looks like they were coloured a hue of amber and though I heard of UV treated glass. Maybe you can upload a photo of the window with a light colored background as a reference.

Love that you got the V2L and heat pump which will be two of your favorite bit of kit added. Oh if you do upload photos include one of the drawer style glove box with something in it that will help add scale. Like a stack of paper plates stacked as high as they'll go and then photo the same stack on a flat surface so we can visualize the depth, width and height. It almost look like you could lay a piece of standard copy paper flat in the bottom or a laptop computer.

Happy for you on your purchase. Enjoy the ride.

  3. Hi Gary, as I said the rear windows are coloured black not tinted and it is almost impossible to see anything inside hence being called privacy glass but you can
see out, the front glass is a standard light bluish grey tint, when I get out and about again hopefully with some sunshine I'll take more pics

  4. Just measured the drawer and it is not quite A4 at 10½ inches square and 6 deep and will hold quite a lot, just my sunglasses at the moment as they aren't needed:D

This is one of my favorite looks of the IONIQ 5. The Black paint with super dark privacy glass that match beautifully and trim pieces about are a perfect compliment. Back seat guests will feel like they are in a limousine ride.

Ha ha no excuse, sorry all I should have known better to explain acronyms. It was a frequent used one I lifted from a Toyo forum back in my trucking days.

Still waiting for the US ships to sail so we will be closer to getting on the road. Tsk tsk too flipping bad our "fall" deliveries appear to be developing into pipe dreams and we (some of us at least) now may need to keep the fleet charged and garaged until springs first thaw.

  10. Yum. Love the color. That's what the Canadian package selections forced me to choose. Happy I like it.

The parking surface is a perfect complement in color. Both are stunningly beautiful.

  13. The sun's come out so took K.I.T.T. for a country drive today in Cheshire and he handled the winding country lanes without a problem, so I had to take a photo and there's a polarizing filter on so you can just see through the rear window.

In "Silver Fox" (posted in this thread) and "K.I.T.T.'s" photos; there appears to be the same artifact or feature on each. I was wondering if you saw or know what it's about? In the profile view following the rear top air spooler line running forward at a 45 degree angle across the C pillar is what appears to be some writing. I wasn't sure if it was an InsideEV's water mark or if they are possible from the same dealer and it was something after factory decal.

Its the Project 45 logo which appears on all the 175 UK Project 45's - can't say I've seen the logo on any of the European 45s
    Viva la Brexit! ;)

Thanks for the close up and the clarity on the unique signage. It’s not offensive at all but I wonder if it can be removed easily? I think I’d rather have it on the privacy glass somewhere more in line with the horizontal body lines. Pardon me gawking at your ride. With winter coming on how do you treat the under carriage to prevent rust? They are so wonderful I’d personally have Yiannimize PPF to whole thing and then ceramic coat the PPF myself unless they carry the combo products that’ll do the job like XPEL.

Two miracles: The Sun made an appearance and you’ve learned how to turn your high flying experience in to a photo opportunity. Where was that Kodak Spot? Am I telling my age. Koda-who the kids will say until reflex kicks in and they search for the phrase on the web.

Contrary to popular belief, we generally don't have very severe winters in the UK - maybe a week or 2 of snow at the worst.
I'm also quite far inland, so its very rare you see any road legal car with any rust spots at all.
I know of another P45 owner who has been quoted just under £3K for PPF, but its not for me, being more of a spit & polish person - and yes, I did actually use a bit of spit to remove some dirt yesterday - with a microfibre cloth of course - we're not Neanderthals
