    FUD rating: 3 false statements, 2 half-truths.

Given that sales of the I-Pace are going to be only a small fraction of that of the Tesla Model 3*, the FUD that Tesla is going to need to "overcome" the competition from the I-Pace shows how desperate this arguement is!

    :p :p :p

    * Automotive News Europe says "LMC forecasts that I-Pace sales will be 4,500 in Europe next year..." Compare to an estimated 6260 Model 3 sales in the U.S. last month (June) alone!

    * * * * *

There isn't any zero-sum game here; both the I-Pace and the Tesla Model 3 will serve our community well. More choices in the market is better!

I just surveyed Edmunds.com and found the long term, Model 3 testing continues. The Model 3 review is unchanged. Perhaps Monday or Tuesday we'll see something on the Edmunds web site but for now, same as before these tweets.

Part of the EU enthusiasm for the I-Pace is pride in having a locally produced I-Pace versus the fatigue of waiting for the USA Teslas. Those who cancel their EU orders for the I-Pace are likely to proclaim their change of heart. Tesla asking for another $2,500 pours salt on their wounds of wait but there is more.

The USA has declared a full scale, trade war against the world. The defensive tariffs will (are) pushing the prices of all USA goods including vehicles to astronomical values. It is also increasing the costs of materials to make those goods, again increasing costs of USA products not only abroad but home too.

I do not think the I-Pace is going to hurt the Model 3 per se, but just yesterday on the I-Pace forum 2 people mentioned canceling Model 3 and going for I-Pace. It was also mentioned that the most recent I-Pace orders have a scheduled date for delivery in Jan-Feb 2019, meaning the sales for this year are full.

4500 in Europe in 2018... sounds about right... Remember the article you posted was written last year, so referencing next year is 2018... speaking of spin!!

Causing Division in the BEV community? coming from a guy who does not own a BEV... I find this statement interesting, as I am buying an BEV, and building a solar array... Dan Edmonds did cancel his Model 3 order, and bashed Tesla in the process. (Is Dan Edmunds a short seller? Troll? ) Nope he tested the Model 3 and said it did not meet his standard, poorly built and not reliable. Dan Edmonds also did not like the UI, sounds very familiar to my opinion.

You are right, there is no zero sum game, except in you constantly attacking people who post in the forum, as people are turned off, and leave the site, and the site does not make money... I am going to complain to Inside EV's that I am tired of the personal attacks and if there is not increased moderation I am out of here. On the I-Pace forum its so nice... One personal attack and people are immediately banned. It makes a nice peaceful site where people can enjoy meaningful discussion about upcoming products, and No constant bombardment from people with nothing better in their life to do but be online trolls.

Did not know there is already an I-pace forum.
Where is it? Is the I-pace forum like the Tesla forum? Hardcore I-pace fans?
I-pace is nto yet sold in USA, right? Are the members just the waitlisters?

A curious irony, if I-Pace advocates would not post brow-beating, anti-Tesla and Elon Musk complaints, no one would care. I can't find any I-Pace technical reason for triggering such Tesla-Musk vitriol. I can understand EU pride and tribalism that is usually somewhat isolated. So I joined a Jaguar user forum and found:
So I think we can rule out something in the I-Pace technology that triggers anti-Tesla and Musk postings.

There are several I-Pace forums, with all kinds of different people on there, some are wait listers, some are just EV fans, and some Tesla owners that are curious, and a few Tesla trolls, although the moderators will quickly ban that type if they become overly active. I-Pace release in the USA is scheduled for AUG 28th.

Yeah, it's funny. Another crow eaten. But Musk keeps deleting his tweets, hoping he can just "unsay" things he already said.

DG, your memory is as good as your math. Regardless, the issue is over and both parties seem content.

The cancellation rate for Model 3 reservations is reported at 24%, about the same as the old rate for pre-orders of the Model S a few years back. The only thing that's surprising here is that the two rates are so very close; I was expecting the new rate to be somewhat higher or lower.

Of course, it's entirely expected that a serial Tesla basher like you would keep trying to spin that as being "bad", no matter how unsurprising it is.

I posted what I found by Googling. It wasn't cherry-picked in any way. Yeah, there is a lot of attempted spin here... by you.

And you apparently are quite upset over the fact that I know a lot more about the EV industry in general, and Tesla specifically, than you do, despite the fact that I no longer own any car. I have a genuine long-term interest in electric cars -- the subject of this forum -- while nearly all your posts here are merely efforts to bash Tesla and manipulate its stock price.

I was shocked that you didn't even recognize the names CODA, Th!nk, Aptera, or Better Place. CODA, Aptera, and (Project) Better Place have all been very heavily discussed in EV-related forums in previous years. Th!nk was, I admit, somewhat more obscure, since it was based in Norway, but it started out as a Ford project before it was sold off, and some (maybe 100-200) Th!nk City cars were sold here in the USA.

Sadly, some people apparently feel very threatened by the fact that someone can learn more by reading than they do from life experience. You have to feel sorry for people who suffer from such a huge inferiority complex, and I suppose it's no surprise when some of them also exhibit such extreme jealousy of Elon Musk, apparently out of the same feelings of inadequacy.

The level of absolute bull pucky in your posts is so high... are your eyes brown?

I once listed all the threads you have created here for no purpose other than to attack Tesla, but the entire thread in which I posted that list got deleted, presumably by a moderator who got tired of all the utterly false FUD that you were throwing at Tesla there, as well as your repeated personal attacks on several people.

But let's count your Tesla bashing threads which have not been deleted, and we'll see just who is constantly attacking:

    1. Model S fatal accident/fire
    2. Tesla driver did not want to wait in line for coffee?
    3. Very Interesting Panasonic news filtering its way across the Pacific Ocean
    4. Doug Field needs a break?
    5. Another fire Truck??
    6. Sounds like Tesla engineers wanted to make Autopilot work like Supercruise
    7. Another Tesla Fatality with Fire
    8. Are the Tesla Model 3 brakes really worst in class?
    9. Tesla/Grohman Automated Battery Assembly Arrived in NV
    10. Looks like this Model S went after a Police car instead of a Firetruck?
    11. Another Glass Roof Cracked on Model 3
    12. Did the Model X Autopilot Accellerate into the barrier?
    13. Tesla suffers Tent fire... Not Model 3 Production Tent...
    14. Did Tesla really stop testing brakes to meet their production goals?
    15. Even the hyper modified Tesla Model S Race Car overheats on the track

Regarding my comments on that subject, what you said there is an outright 100% falsehood on your part. There isn't a single particle of truth to it.

I challenge you to find any post in which I suggested or even implied what you are claiming I said. Here is a reminder: My first post in this thread started out "...actually, on this particular subject, I think he's [David Green is] absolutely correct. Elon Musk bullying the artist and/or his family member(s) is something that, according to many reports, he has really done." Anyone can scroll back and see what I had to say on the subject. So once again, Mr. Green, you are caught in a bare-faced falsehood.

In fact, the reason I am now visiting this thread is to post that I was pleased to discover (when I Googled for Tesla news today) that Tesla and the "farting unicorn" artist have come to what reportedly is an amicable agreement over Tesla's continued use of the image. It's too bad that the artist had to, so to speak, threaten Tesla with a lawyer*, but that sort of thing is why the world needs lawyers... unfortunately.

From Ars Technica: "Tesla clears the air with 'farting unicorn' artist after copyright stink"

*Serial Tesla bashers, who have no sense of humor at all, won't get the joke. But that makes the joke even better! ;)

    * * * * *

This aside is utterly off-topic, but I can't ever think of the term "threaten them with a lawyer" without thinking of this section from Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark":

Then the Snark pronounced sentence, the Judge being quite
Too nervous to utter a word:
When it rose to its feet, there was silence like night,
And the fall of a pin might be heard.

"Transportation for life" was the sentence it gave,
"And then to be fined forty pound."
The Jury all cheered, though the Judge said he feared
That the phrase was not legally sound.

But their wild exultation was suddenly checked
When the jailer informed them, with tears,
Such a sentence would have not the slightest effect,
As the pig had been dead for some years.

The Judge left the Court, looking deeply disgusted:
But the Snark, though a little aghast,
As the lawyer to whom the defence was intrusted,
Went bellowing on to the last.
