First, many thanks for the measurements.

However, I did (gasp) make a mistake. It isn't called, "H number". And, it's not ground to seat height. It's s called, "H-Point, and is ground to Hip height measurement; so can add (depending on how big your butt is ;) , the number to figure it out)" , https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a33926390/four-years-testing-seat-height/ ;)

But, I'm glad you took the seat measurement, as this is what I'm comparing to my old 2005 RAV-4.

Also, am I correct in saying, that the Ground Clearance is about 9"? From what I've seen, it looks a lot lower than that.

Is there a way to "auto-lock" the doors after a set amount of time? Maybe a setting that can be adjusted. This way, the door handles wouldn't be sticking out if someone were to accidentally leave the Ioniq 5 unlocked. Or else, wouldn't a thief easily be able to determine which vehicle was unlocked, if the handles were sticking out?

Not quite Jeep standards on Ground Clearance - Its around 4.5 inches (unloaded)

  8. I saw a video on the Hyundai website yesterday which said 6.1"

  9. Wow, thanks for that shot, unfortunately takes my interest immediately away from this vehicle, way to low for around these parts. BTW Is this with the 19 or 20 inch wheels?

  10. That would make sense with 20 inch wheels.

If you wait the Ariya is supposed to be 6.9" and the ID.4 AWD is just under 8.9"

Well this is weird - As you can see from the "unphotoshopped" tape measure photo above, the height from ground to car edge is around 4.5 inches, & yet I've just remeasured the height of the camera I drove over in the video in 1st post and its around 5"!!
Obviously, I checked before filming that sequence that the camera would be well clear of the underside.
Maybe there's greater clearance down the middle, but to be honest it all looked symmetrically flat to me at the time - very weird o_O

I've got the 20 inch wheels, but I also read earlier today that the 19" wheel & tyre combo are actually 5mm taller than the 20"

    Next Topic:-
All the fully loaded Project 45 versions like mine come with the auto opening & closing handles, & by default the handles automatically closed if the keys moved more than 5 metres away from the car.
However, I disabled this feature within the settings menu after a week, as it got quite annoying to always have the car opening & closing whenever I walked past it.
The handles now only open/close either from the key fob buttons, or my preferred option, to put my finger on the drivers door touch sensor to open & close.
I would also prefer it if there was an option to say, open drivers door only with one press & all doors with 2 presses.

Thanks, again. But, WOW! That's a lot lower than I read somewhere else. :(

I didn't see the vid in question. But, in searching, Ground Clearance, on a few different upcoming EVs that I'm interested in, I found (sorry, no link), it said, 6.3".

So, not too far off from what the video said. But, for sure, a picture is indeed, worth 1,000 words.

    Thanks @restyler

I think I'll join you in this sentiment.

The Ariya is my first choice of 5 upcoming (hope to be soon) new EVs coming out.

But, I read (again, no link, sorry), it's 6.7" So, again, close enough.

Due to the "Weirdness" of my previous tape measure shot (how could I have driven safely over a 5" camera if my GC was only 4.5"), I measured all round the car again, but this time on Flat Tarmac - previous shot was on my sloping brick paved drive.

Anyone want to reinstate orders - or do you all want to cross river beds?

  17. That looks better, pretty much the same as my Kona EV 158mm (6.2 inches). Thought maybe the skateboard design was lowered for interior comfort. Thanks for the photos:)

Because they have 220v in Europe, and we only have 110. We only get 220 with 2 phase, and they apparently can't do that. Disappointing for sure

As an Uber driver I'm wondering how hard it is for new people to figure out the door handles in a hurry? And, if I pull up to a stop, and unlock the doors, do the handles pop out?

Not sure if you mean disappointing for NA or Europe?
But cant think why I'd need 2 phases for anything, so personally I'm not disappointed
    (3-phases & I'd be ecstatic, but 2 - not so much - keep it)
