I have not seen the latest changes, but I had read that the new bill would not take effect until 2023, and that it had nothing to do in changing the current configuration of the rebates that would then sunset at the end of this year.

It is a big and complicated bill - different parts take effect at different times. The exclusion of foreign-made cars apparently takes effect on the day that Biden signs the bill. If you are getting a TN car, you should be fine. If you get a German car, you could be out of luck. It could be kind of weird - two identical cars side by side have such a big difference.

It wouldn't surprise me if all of the German production slots for US cars get reassigned to build European spec cars, but the ones already made are probably still on the way.

Lucky, I ordered in May 2022 and haven't been invited to lock yet, tho I did update to a 2023.

My car is on vessel 378, in route to San Diego. Does anyone know how I can find the name of the ship? Thanks!

Hopefully not the Felicity Ace! I have wondered how many ID4s went down with it...

Yes Sorry, that was meant to be a bit of a joke. I actually did find some manifests though and a few ID4s did appear to go down with it, but not a lot. Some were dealers units, and maybe 100 or so customer ID4s. I added it up yesterday but now have forgotten. Mostly they were luxury vehicles. I had assumed a lot of Etron Q4s went down with it, hence the unbearable delays... but not a single Q4 was onboard from the info I found.

Hey, but at least we know what The Little Mermaid is driving. Under the Sea. Down where its wetter.

Yes. I do believe there were VWs on it which is one of the reasons orders were delayed. I did get your humor. :)

I was invited to lock in Friday - and finally had time to sit down and locked in the $400 yesterday (Sunday). I stuck with a base Pro RWD model. I did add one option, the upgraded mirror with homelink - which I had been told by my local dealer wasn't available. But it let me add it anyway. The delivery timeline is estimated to be Dec to January. That isn't too far, but I would prefer sooner since none of us seem to know what will happen with the tax credit come Jan 2023.

So my pre order was Aug 10, and my invitation to finalize was Sep 16th.

I reserved my backup on August 11 so hopefully that means my '23 Pro S Plus will lock very soon also!

It could be that your trim also matters when determining your place in the cue. There could be more orders for the Pro S. Otherwise it would seem like your $400 would have come up already. I'm going for the most basic white Pro model. Less demand maybe?

Well our '23 ID-4 Pro S just locked today with a December '22 delivery estimate. So about 40 days from reservation to lock, per the spreadsheet alot of Pro S are locking but very few Pro S Plus are.

Thanks! I put my info in, but i couldn't seem to insert a row at the proper location, so its down at the bottom of the sheet.

Looking at the spreadsheet, does it look like a few 2023s have started production? But they appear to be all Pro S. Makes me wonder if they are starting with only the higher trim levels.

Well, I checked my reservation this AM, hoping to see it moving forward since folks with Pro-S have started to move.. and instead they changed my date. Instead of Dec-Jan is now says January 2023 to JUNE 2023! Up to a six month delay, with apparently no hope of a 2022 delivery! First, not sure I'm willing to wait that long, second, if it turns out the 2023 doesn't qualify with the SKI pack come January, then its a no-go anyway.

What a bummer. I have reached out to my dealer to see what is going on. My guess would be the Pro model isn't going to be produced for another 4-6 months. Or because I wanted RWD.

Hi, newbie here waiting for car. Some folks mentioned knowing the ship their car is on. How did you find that info ? Mine is leaving the factory and I'm wondering if that's stateside or Germany. Any easy way to find out ?
