Well my saga is over. Honda tech support fixed it behind the scenes and it's working again. Of course once they fixed mine, it dumped from wifes phone (which had been working fine) and I had to "re-invite" her as an authorized driver. With that done it's now working for both of us, but by Honda's own admission basically my Honda Link program had some sort of giant glitch they had to fix, and they did. Here's hoping I get more than 2 weeks out of it this time...

Up until the past few days it's been fine for me. But yesterday my charging schedule got messed up (I hadn't touched it), so I reset it to 12:10 a.m. and noticed this morning that it hadn't run and was set to 8:10 a.m. I just reset it in the car; hopefully that will stick.

Totally coincidentally, I assume, the tablet screen thingy decided I was on the phone. I reset that. We'll see.

I've not had any issues with either since May when I got the car.

My app not working for a few days, I logged out (through the garage button) and back in again and that worked.

The HondaLink app seems to provide information from the car to my phone as long as the car is plugged in. I’ve noticed that if someone unplugs my car (fully charged - not complaining!) HondaLink gives me a “connot retrive” message if my phone is on WiFi. If I take my phone off the WiFi network it retrieves the data from the car just fine. I’ve also noticed that if I shut the car off and don’t plug it in then HondaLink shows 0% battery no matter what the actual battery charge might be. Weird behavior but now I know how to turn on preconditioning after someone unplugs my car. All I have to do is get off WiFi and I now can have a warm car when I get to the garage.

Had the same issue after a few days of vacation. The logout and login worked for me as well. Thanks for the tip !

My Hondalink app has not pinged my car since January 9th. I've tried everything I know of to get it to locate my vehicle so the app will update. I have logged out and then signed in, I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, and now I have the Honda in car tech people trying to figure out why it's not working. Very frustrating when you are over 1000 miles away frim your car foe several weeks:>(

If you are 1000 miles away then that implies the car is not moving. Perhaps it is simply in a location where it cannot connect to the network.

Walt, for the previous 4 months I, literally, had not one time where "locate car" did not update the SOC, and all other info, on the app. The car is where it always is in my garage. And I can attest that the car is not moving (as I can see (thru my garage cam) the car tucked in my garage). I suppose it is possible that the closest cell tower that AT&T uses is down, but not likely.

How long has it been parked in the garage ? Did you get updates in the first few days and then it stopped working from Jan 9th
or you never got any updates since parking and leaving ?

lanb, since we started the vacation, it's been parked in the garage since January 3rd (where it always is, since Aug.). The app was working fine (checked the app daily) until the 9th. I asked in- car Honda tech if they had any updates to the app and they said "no". Can't get the app to work with wife phone either. Have battery tender on 12v and car is plugged in as well.

I had the same behavior, app worked fine for 7 days since start of vacation/parked car and then "unable to retrieve information".
Once I returned and drove the car, the app still would not update (this is probably a bug) until I logged out and logged in.

Here is my hypothesis - The mobile chip probably shuts down to avoid draining the 12V battery after a period (7+ days ??) of inactivity.
If we get some data points from other users, we can confirm this.

BTW, what happens when you use the "find my car" feature of the app ? When I did this during my vacation, the car would not be
located but the app dashboard would show the last known charge (as of the 7th day) and then go back to "unable to retrieve info"

That is what is happening to me.

My HL app works for everything except the Odometer reading. The last date and distance shown is for December 28th. The one before that was for December 8th. I've tried everything mentioned in this thread to get it to update consistently but nothing has worked.

I noticed something today that was a little odd and may be related to the occasional problem getting updated information on the HondaLink app. When I downloaded data from my OBD scanner, during a mid-day ECON trip that ate up about 50% of the EV battery, the reported battery life on the logger was stuck at 80% (where it was at the start of the journey / end of the previous drive earlier). And when I tried to look at the state of charge afterwards the HondaLink said it could not retrieve the information. So I think that message may point to a software glitch in the car (obvious I know). Anyway, I thought it was either a wild coincidence or there may be another small nugget of info in trying to understand the inner workings of the car's computer.

I don't think there was anything unusual about my previous drive's shut-down, although at the end of it the car did give the weird fast beep alarm when I exited. I wonder if it may be some sort of glitch in how the car powers down which triggers the car beeps when exiting, and also may freeze the battery reporting in OBD-II and through HondaLink. I didn't notice any other quirks during those 2 trips.

Perhaps like the satellite radio glitch for start-up, there may be a similar routine for a clean shut-down to avoid the alarm beeps and HondaLink connection trouble. Just speculating. I may be reading too much into the circumstances...

The app is terrible. The time listed on the app is always 2-5 hours behind the actual time. This renders my battery charge level useless. The parking location is rarely accurate. I've never used the climate control but will assume that is also garbage. I've uninstalled/re-installed the app and it's the same issue. When I called for tech support, Honda wanted my username and pw to access my app, that is where I drew the line. I know tech and it's not me or my phone. The app customer complaints are a clear indicator that the Hondalink app has issues.
